Ingeunity II Question

I've been on a bit of a crafting binge lately to be pretty much fully self sufficient.

However, I'm having a hard time figuring out when the best time to use this skill is. I see the value in lower level items when especially doing high level gear but from a "Turns" perspective I am pretty terrible at maximizing this skill.

Any recommendations?

If you are going for a big finish Quality move, the time to use it would be part of the set up for that big Quality move.

IE - you've gotten a bunch of Inner Quiet boosts to Control, and are getting ready to Great Strides->Advanced Touch. You would use other moves like Ingenuity 2 in order to boost that combo a bit more. You really do not need to use it near the beginning of a recipe, because you are not using big Quality moves and will not see as big an impact from it.

I use ingenuity II for the one and two star synths, and only for synthesis actions, not touches. As you'll notice the star synths give much less advancement when using synthesis, but pop ingenuity II and suddenly your ilvl 70 craft is level 47. Getting hq on darksteel nuggets must be quite difficult without ingenuity.

1 and 2 star crafts are "level 55". You don't get a quality boost for crafts lower than you, so for quality, Ingenuity I and II are the same. You DO get a progress bonus for lower level synths, so Ingenuity II will help on finishing quicker.

However, with 360 Craftsmanship, you can finish a 40 Durability 1-star in one Standard Synth and an 80 Durability 2-star in 2 Standard Synths with Ingenuity I.

Substitute Ingenuity II? It still requires a Standard Synth to finish a 40 durability 1-star. For 2 stars, at 360 Craftsmanship, you can use 1x Standard Synth and 1x Careful Synth II, but trying to use anything less than that requires 380+ Craftsmanship.

A) Thanks for helping with my Relic a month or so ago!

B) I never knew lower level synths didn't get a control bonus. Guess I never really paid attention really. I'll have to readd Ingenuity I to my bars than to see how that goes. (My craft isn't high enough yet to 1 Synth 40 Dur stuff anyways so that doesn't make much of a difference as of yet)

I made some videos of my rotations. I can't double check on my phone and they are a week or so old, but they should still hold up. 360 craftsmanship (what you need to one-two shot with ingenuity and Standard) is pretty easy to reach. If you need your accessories melded, let me know!!
