Confused

Hello all. I'd like to start our by saying I just started playing this past weekend. I quickly got to lvl 23 playing an Archer and I love it. I'm playing on the Belias server. I truly know nothing about this game. I just picked it up to take a break from playing WoW.

Since I am new I know no one at all. There seems to be zero general chat per say. I shout out, yell, and even use Say to try and talk to people but I get no response. I would like to find a "Guild" or what ever it is called in this game to help lvl and run instances with. Any help or guidance would be great.

If you get into any FATE parties (they are popular starting in the mid-20's I believe) you can ask people in the group if any of their Free Companies are recruiting members.

Unfortunately, due to RMT spam, many people are blocking yell and shout. Which makes it tough to meet people.

There are certain areas players tend to congregate and chat. The three main towns generally have little chatter because of RMT spam. You are much more likely to find shouts, fc recruitment, and chatter near grinding spots and end-game dungeons. I would recommend the following locations in no particular order:
western thanalan (horizon), eastern thanalan (camp drybones), north thanalan (ceruleum processing plant), western la noscea (aleport), eastern la noscea (costa del sol), south shroud (quarrymill), coerthas highlands (dragon reach), and mor dhana (revenants toll).

But that' why Estellios suggested to ask for it in a FATE party.. :)
