Getting locked out from logging in from different IP's?

Just want some people that do this, to confirm that they have logged in under a different IP without getting locked out of their account as long as they have their One-Time Password set up.

I'm heading to a buddy's tomorrow and bringing the PC with me to have a little party there, so I don't want to end up getting locked out. :(

I don't have a Token, and have logged in from at least three different IPs without a problem. That said, some people have asserted they have had problems, though I remain doubtful based on my own experience, but with all the paranoia about account suspensions and bannings that SE is causing it's hard to tell fact from fiction.

Thanks for the reply and the input. Ill try it and see what happens, if I get locked out then I whatever I guess.

the lockout depends on how different the IP range is between isp's.

Uh oh. Today I logged in to this Forum for the very first time from work and my home IP is different. Does it mean there is a chance my account is suspended when I come home or would it only matter if I would have tried to login to the Game itself using different IP's?

I've been switching between two location on different ISPs for MONTHS without an issue... now after patch first login from 2nd location LOCKED ME OUT... and now 14 horus later still NO EMAIL from SE, eitehr from lockout, password reset or support case...since i had had no issue for months i did not setup token device.

I have ordered a token but it's not shipped yet. Oh well, I guess I have to wait till I get home and see what happened. As far as I understood it, logging in and changing the password for my account is sufficient to be able to login again. Or do I need their support to help me out? I hopethat's not the case. I have read many bad things about FF14 support and do not want to wait forever for them to respond. Wish me luck lol.

You should be fine. And even if it does get locked out you will receive an email requesting you take a couple of steps to restore your service (primarily changing your password).

I had this happen yesterday to me, played at work, got home 30 min later and got locked out, changed my pw with the email link and back on fine, just for account security I guess ;) Am working on the mobile authenticator as we speak ;)

I was locked out while at a hotel in another state, but only after I switched from the hotel's internet(cause it was horrible) to tethered on my phone. Few hours later I was locked out. Got a email for SE to reset my account and all was good. I got the email during the night so not exactly sure when the account was locked, but it didn't take any time at all to unlock it. The only real problem was the launcher just crashes when you are locked out(unless that has changed with the recent patch) and leaves you with no reason as to why. Once I checked my SE account on their web page it was clear what the problem was. Side note, I do have a auth from the CE of V1 and I use it, but I was still locked out. I've read other saying that stops this from happening. Didn't seem to help me. But I don't log in from different IP's that often.
