Aurum Vale, the absolute bane of my life.

Right, I don't know whether I'm just being stupid or what ~ but it seems to be an absolute impossibility to do this dungeon smoothly as a scholar healer, especially with the first and last bosses in mind due to their mechanics. I managed to keep my pet alive a little longer with the occasional Adolquium+Stoneskin but it just doesn't do the job effectively. I find it ridiculous that we as scholars should lose 30%+ of our healing capability purely because of a stupid mechanic that we have no control or reaction for; the only thing we can do is stand there "Hurrr Durrr, Re-summon pet 6s" without using Swiftcast.

Sorry, I know a bit of a QQ thread but this is ridiculous that a single job (obv' including Summoners too) should be gimped so much by this. SE, get yo' heads in the game.

The first fight with the ochu was the only issues since the last fights bosses stacks can pretty much be ignored on the pet. That being said. This hot fix made this much easier/safer for we SCHs to deal with. Now we can force her to cure while we are recasting her. (Crazy paradox I know)

So for the first fight with the Ochu once I get two stacks I eat my fruit and immediately start recasting her (using swiftcast if it is off CD). Before the fix that would mean risking death of everyone but it didn't happen that often. But now that I can force her to heal while I recast her the fight will no longer be an issue I don't believe. ^^

Yes, Aurum Vale is the only dungeon where I really hate my fairy. She is a big liability there.

I was looking for a thread on this before I started one. If they could just make the fruit cleanse our pets as well as us, problem solved. I don't mind having to toss a little heal on her or something. Or to make it even easier, just make the effect ignore non-player characters.

Just something so we don't lose a rather noticeable chunk of our healing during a very healing intensive fight(especially if people are being foolish).

Esteemed friend and colleague fear not! This dungeon is beatable you have the tools to do so! Last night I went with a PLD tank, MNK and SMN ( bum bum bum) and SCH (myself) and beat it with 30 mins to spare on my 2nd attempt. The first run I had a double disconnect after we were doing so well and cruising through the 2nd boss x.x and the duty finder broke and gave us 2 monks, and no tank so our party looked like (SMN SCH MNK MNK).

For the first boss fight's it is very crucial to place your fairy near the center by the tank in place it can reach everyone and spam rouse as it comes off cooldown. She will handle this shit for you while you scratch your butt I assure you. Maintain your Aetherstacks, If you are @ or below 50% MP use Energy Drain as needed but otherwise alleviate the dmg of the tank/fairy and any melee DPS with a well places Sacred Soil. Nextly you will position yourself patiently near a fruit. Only coming in harms way to succor the party your fairy will die @ 3 stacks of crap so the solution for this is a 2 part plan: Step 1 watch for the time nearing for the 2nd stack, over heal the party with a Succor/Sacred Soil/Succor combo ( adlo tank as needed). Step 2: Consume fruit and relax because you just cured the shit out of the party and possibly hit rouse again. Immediately after eating the fruit summon another fairy. RINSE REPEAT.

Another key to this fight is positioning. The tank obviously should be holding hate and keep AoE off of others but everyone should try to preemptively stand near their OWN fruit! It's like a condom if you need one and don't have it you're boned! SMN also is not a lost cause because of their AoE LB on the adds in the last boss. For the last boss you use a similar strategy as above but you save Eye for an Eye only when adds pop. You'll also want to perform some Energy Drain/Ruin II combos on the seedlings.

I just recently did this dungeon.

Basically my insta cast is there for a resummon. The fairy does not "become a liability" it just becomes useless when it starts spam healing itself only :) Your own heals are more than enough to keep everyone going.

Keep your mana up, use succor every now and then, and keep your tank going.

Its actually one of the simpler dungeons I've met till now, and I love the cyclops boss, first boss you have to watch the BOSS instead of the ground :) fun!

I've not done it as SCH, but I've done it a number of times as SMN. Maku's right - the biggest problem is the first boss, as Gold Lung does significant dot once the stacks start adding up. The Barbs the last boss uses are bad for players, but since egi and fairies have that hidden aoe mitigation I never saw Garuda get under half unless she got caught in Bad Breath (or floated into a terrain hazard).

I would still happily send a dozen lalafell to Thal for Sustain to have a cleanse effect.
