Chocobo Dynamics & Characteristics

One thing I have seen when our chocobo's are fighting is that when I attack a monster the chocobo fights the monster, but when I don't attack the monster the chocobo does nothing and lets the monster kill me or the monster's. SE needs to make it where the chocobo attacks when the monster is attacking me instead of letting it kill me. If I run away make it where the chocobo will also run away. These little things is what makes a game good. Also, I would like SE to find a way for us to color our chocobo's, I mean the same old dull color gets old which is yellow.

You have an action in your companions menu that tells your Chocobo to stop fighting and follow you.

Yes, but I'm talking about when I'm attacking a monster, of course the chocobo will attack the monster but if I'm not attacking the monster and it is attacking me the chocobo does nothing but stand there while i get hit is what I'm saying. They need to make it if the monster is hitting me, the chocobo attacks without me having to target the monster, and it does not do that unless i target it.
