Variety in NPC stores and guild hours of operation.

One of the things that helped immersion in FFXI was the various guilds having specific hours that they were open, as well as the one day a week that they were closed. In addition to this, the amount of items available to purchase fluctuated, and of course the prices varied based on your level of fame. What I was wondering was if you guys would like to see something similar carried over to FFXIV? As of now, the time of day doesn't seem to matter much. Should guilds have hours of operation, or are you happy with how they are now? And do you guys like NPCs always having the same stock with set rates or would you rather see more fluctuation there?

Sure it helped immersion but it was also incredibly annoying. No thanks.

What about limited quantities of items per day? Or do you like how they infinite?

I like the way things are now. It means I don't have to schedule my play time around Vana'diel hours. The fluctuation thing happened in XI because guilds had limited stocks on things, and what would happen is people would buy out the stock of the guild and resell in the Auction House at a higher price. So no, I don't miss how things were done in FFXI.

I do think the shops should sell (items that were npc'd) and base the prices on the quantity in stock. This would make some items available that might not be in the markets.

The time of day/limited purchase really sucked... but did give a sense of camping the shops. I'm on the fence about limiting times to purchase... but leaning more towards NO dont do it.

Please, don't bring back the hours of operation system from FFXI. I'll never forget rushing into a guild store to buy an item and having it close on me before I could finish the purchase. Not only that, but the store didn't even actually close. The @$%& NPC stood right there at the counter the whole time. Nothing changed at all except for the fact that the NPC would tell you that you couldn't make any purchases until the store "opened". So for me it didn't increase immersion at all. It DID, however, increase frustration.
