Does Food have an "right" level?

My level 33 weaver (don't laugh, crafting is hard) tried a Baked Sole. This was supposed to grant Control +8%. Instead it seemed that it granted a NEGATIVE 8% :).

I know in 1.0 food efficacy was related to level - does anyone know if this is true in ARR?

Thanks for any info - and if anyone has real stats that would be cool!

Well, what did your character sheet read before and after eating the sole?

Lets make it simple.

Say you have 100 control. Move the decimal over 1 from the left to make it 1.00 That is your 1% number you will get for increase. Now look at the max number on the food... 8% x 1 = 8. If the max(x) number is less than 8 you are not recieving the correct amount of buff and should look into better food.... This will work for any and all foods/stats...
