Help prioritizing gear upgrades?

I'm not sure if there's a guide for prioritizing gear slots, but I didn't see one when searching.

Anyway, here's my character:

Long story short, main job WAR, leveling PLD to help out with Coil. I'm hopefully looking at PLD just until WAR is more viable (I'm not the main PLD, just the second tank). I have 300 myth on hand, and will get relic sword / shield for PLD as soon as I farm up philosophy (already got Titan out of the way). Ideally, what's the best way to go about things?

Prioritize relic shield +1? Get relic sword +1 right after? Replace hoplite ring with myth ring? Get myth helmets to replace hoplite since they aren't going to drop from Coil any time soon? Is WAR helmet even worth the myth over hoplite if you have to sacrifice the parry on the hoplite for skill speed and some more VIT / STR? Focus more on accessories for both jobs?

I'm cautious about spending myth on gear that might have sidegrades or upgrades in Coil, as I would have dumped the myth on the WAR body only to have allagan drop right after which is comparable enough before all the slots are filled to the point where I can be choosy about which upgrade I want to put in a slot.

I wouldn't +1 the shield as one drops in Turn 1 iirc, correct me if I'm wrong. If you are to +1 a relic, go for the Sword imo. However, if your group isn't breathing down your neck in terms of threat, a +1 to your relic weapon might not be necessary. Obviously, unless you want the shinies, then I won't stop you as that is a super valid reason to upgrade relic! :P Since you're dabbing in both jobs and are holding out for the Warrior, why not go for the Myth ring first? It'll benefit both greatly.

What you're wearing now based on the WAR set that's showing is more than enough for a PLD in coil at least up to Turn 5 (I've yet to even try Turn 5). You also don't NEED to +1 your sword and shield, but it is a nice damage/hp boost for you.

Upgrading your accessories (mainly the ring) would benefit you most, others may disagree given the fact that apparently the HQ Rose accessories are apparently better if fully melded from a min/max perspective.

Well if you said you want to switch to WAR later, i'd not upgrade anything that isn't useable by both PLD and WAR (until you have all these upgrades done). Further why are you leveling PLD just to run coil? WAR can tank with a PLD fine and many groups do it. Is it slightly harder? yes, but it is doable and it will make your group stronger in the long run as you learn how to work together with the setup you want to run and not a temporarily easier setup and say deal with changes later.

Sword / shield and accessories (ring first) seem like a good starting point then.

As for bringing PLD over WAR, I'm okay with either. I enjoy WAR more, but at the end of the day I'd rather my group clear content and get geared up as fast as possible. We literally just started Coil like this week, and without much gear to back the group up, PLD is the superior choice when there is a large gear discrepancy. I'd rather do what's better for the whole group, that's all. I don't mind fighting Titan or anything else as WAR (tanked him as WAR for my axe, actually), and I went through our first run of Coil as a WAR when I got my body drop, but realistically, I'd like to make things smoother for the whole party, so it's no big deal for me to bring PLD to Coil.

I don't really see an issue with it. I leveled multiple classes in FFXI so that I could come as WAR, BLM, MNK, or DRG if needed (and BLU and BST), so having multiple options open to keep the whole group running smoother is not a foreign concept to me, and other people have secondary classes so that they can switch if we're stacked on one job and short on another role.
