How did you stop sucking at Titan?

I am desperate for ideas. Weight of the land is a simple aoe that I know is coming, and yet, I can't reliably dodge it without doing something stupid like starting to run a second or two before it is cast. I need to be able to react and start moving when it starts not run around like an idiot, dropping it in inconvenient spots. This is a normal, common game mechanic that I've successfully dealt with in several different fights across several different games and systems and I don't understand why I'm coming up short here.

I am not just considering quitting this game, but gaming in general. I'm looking at this like a canary in a coal mine. Am I getting too old? Is this the beginning of the end for my reflexes? If I can't dodge an aoe, do I need to start driving slower and change professions that don't require fast thinking and acting like my current one? You may be able to tell, this fight is really getting me down.

I've done what I can to reduce latency, but I don't want to be a douche that blames his shortcomings on that, so what can I do? Any ideas are appreciated.

Does the cast bar start before it appears on the ground? Maybe I can watch for that instead.

P.S. Don't even mention a carry. Paid or free. If I can't do it as a contributing group member, I don't want to do it.

Huh? What made you think pre-running was stupid? If you don't have the latency or reaction time to "react dodge" then you HAVE to pre-dodge. I do that because Australian latency is horrendous. I play a healer too so I guess you can say that I shouldn't be running around trying to dodge plumes but I simply HAVE too. I've done plenty upon plenty of Titan kills so it's defs worked.
You just need to change your mindset. Titan isn't a DPS race. It's only a DPS race on the heart and if you have good DPS then it's hardly a problem.

So yeah to conclude, pre-run instead of reacting is essential if you can't react dodge. You're better alive looking like a "noob" than dead trying to look like a "pro".

You just get better reaction time as you do it more. If you aren't lagging you can run out of it in time once you are better at reacting to them. Pre-moving is perfectly fine... if you know what comes before Weights you can usually start moving as the position of the weights gets locked a moment before they appear. Keep in mind that currently there is lots of lag at peak hours that may be your issue. There is going to be maintenance in the coming week or the week after that is supposed to improve the duty finder servers to hopefully eliminate this issue.

Also, if you are properly geared and you absolutely cannot get to a safe spot in time, it is important that you position yourself to only get hit by one Weight of the Land. Typically you should be able to survive only one hitting you.

Very simple way to beat Weight of the land mechanic is know when it coming so you actually ready for them. Most pple who got hit by weight of the land cuz they are not aware it coming by the time they visually see it is to late you would not have enough time to run out of range. Here how i do it .

1. Knowing when they spawn
2.Plan out my escape route (not running direction of someone) thank to the fact knowing they coming.
3.Run the moment i see it.

From my experiences with titan,... you dont get better as the fight is messed up. still in plume, wait i didnt get hit, next plume clearly out and get hit. go next day no problems, next day get hit by everything and nothing changed on my end always a 30-34ms ping never spikes up or anything.

Ever seen mountain buster hit the WHM behind titan and the tank? scene it happen 3 times (different whm on different days so not a connection issue).

Point is Titan HM is a messed up fight and some people never have any issues, some people always have issues and some people its very random if they have issues. This is not a fight that you should judge anything in your skills on. Get titan over with and move on to fun content that works as intended.

If it's ping issues then you probably need a tunnel, it's as simple as that.

if the DDs are the ones dying, it isn't my fault.
if the healers are too slow avoiding attacks, it isn't my fault.
if i die because of a mountainbuster, it might be my fault. depends on coodowns.

latency isn't that big of a problem, i wipe more often from people just acting too slowly.
