Reacquiring Special In-game Items

So, I just bought Final Fantasy XIII today and it came with the code for the Asuran Armguards. I have already been playing the game for a while now and don't really want to restart my character just to get an item that only works until you are rank 10, but at the same time I would really like to have the item just for the purpose of saying, "Hey I got this cool in-game item."

So I was wondering if there was a way that we could have like an NPC or something that we can talk to that would allow us to receive the special in-game items if we registered the code after we created the character or if you accidentally drop one of your special items like the Hermes' Shoes, you could talk to the NPC and get them back again.

We can't trade or make a profit off of them... So why not?

Any other ideas? :confused:

I would really like some way to get in-game items redeemed in-game some how. An NPC to pick up from, sent via mailbox (once they're in), something... anything. Its a good idea.

I feel the same way. I don't have any item-codes that I didn't cash in with my characters at the start, but who's to say they won't add more codes and new enticing items in the future? I'd really like to have the possibility of getting them.
