aetheryte ring question

Hi I was just looking at the market board and came across something very odd for myself
I was looking to see how much those rings would cost me and they all have 1 socket....but then the very bottom one has 5 sockets. How is that possible? luck? a skill? I would love to know how that happened:eek:

Has anyone else received good materia isn't of elemental from these rings?

Wow can you really get extra materia sockets just by luck. If so i better get crafting some items

Do you happen to know where Advanced Material Melding is from?

It's a quest from the materia goblin. The quest entails that you meld 8 things in front of him.

That quest does not add sockets to the item. What it does is allow you to exceed the visible slot limit, to attach a total of 5 materia. If the item in question has 2 slots, then without having done that quest you can only attach 2 materia to it. After having done that quest, you can add 3 more - though forcing extra materia on has a chance to fail.

Of course, if you have forced more materia onto the item, those materia have to be displayed, so it appears as though it had slots added.

Basic stat materia, recently got a dex 3 and a str 4.

I got lvl 3 attribute materia from my first two rings, both worth less than the ingredients for the ring.
