Best way to tank multi target?

I just got pld and did a AK run today with average lvl 60 gear. Im a really new tank, i feel like really hard to keep multi target hate

Second and third mob either keep running to healer, or when i try to rotate comb on them, first mob run to dd, :(

Can any exp tank post their best way to tank multi target, help out a new tank please!!!!!!

By this point target one should be dead and you just have two mobs to deal with

I usually always start off a fight by shield lobbing first target, then my silence and aoe damage spell. Then I flash 2-3 times and start in on rage of halone sequence. Once I get one full RoH seq. off I start doing fast blade on main target, 2nd ability on 2nd target, then halone on main target. You can change up the mob you target with the second ability so you generate good threat all around, but always halone the Main target as it needs most threat.

Building on what everyone else has said here, after the opener and my first Rage of Halone combo on the first kill target, I will continue to Fast Blade, Savage Blade the kill target. Now I will cycle through the mobs and see which is most in need of threat and land Halone on that. Often times, all you need is one solid dump of threat to keep them on you and that's exactly what Rage of Halone does for you loaded with the combo multiplier. You will not need to worry about threat on a non kill target after he gets a full loaded Halone. Flashing in between RoH combo strings is also nice too.

Um.. So look like u can check other pt menber's hate on each mob, can any1 tell me how? Another noob question.....

Someone on this forum suggested this takes too long and gave this recommendation:

I call it two thirds, because I change targets to the mob I am most likely going to lose aggro on every 2/3 of a RoH Sequence. I also use the big attacks as soon as they are off timer, no matter where I am in the rotation. Also when I lose aggro on a mob, I Shield Lob to get it back, which I always follow with a Flash.

Reroll Warrior. AoE threat problems solved.

This happened to me quite often at endgame dungeons, rarely at earlier dungeons. Even at a boss. Does enmity have anything to do with your weapon level / damage as well? Yesterday, I kept losing hate to a bard with Ifrit weapon, while I had only Aeolian Scimitar.

I wonder why Fast Blade does not have enmity generation.

One important thing to remember is that you don't have to hit your second target with all steps of your enmity combo before moving on to your next target. Here's what I do. When I can leave the main mob and establish enmity on the other two, I'll throw out step 1 of the combo on the main mob (mob A), step 2 on mob B, and step 3 on mob C. If I need to build enmity on the main mob again, I will do that at this point. Otherwise, when I go to build enmity on the additional mobs again, I'll do step 1 on the main mob (mob A), step 2 on mob C, and step 3 on mob B. Remember that step 2 doesn't build as much enmity as step 3, so I never hit secondary targets with the same step. This equalizes enmity between your additional targets.

Why not just combo them 1-3 in one go before switching to the next mob? This builds enmity on more than one target per combo to prevent mobs from running off quickly, and by the time you've landed your two combos, you have the same amount of enmity between them that you would if you were just single targeting them per combo.
