Question about the servers

I Am a retuning player and stuck on Aegis. Without server transfers yet I assume I am stuck ? but anyways to the real question. I played FFXIV awhile ago an I remember some servers were very populated and some were not. I know currently Aegis it's pretty populated which is awesome because when I get to EG stuff it won't be so bad getting a party but, the language barrier might be a problem. I was really wondering if I do move to a English server is there consistent spaming in general chat ? and what would be the most populated server ? reason for asking this is because when I start a Linkshell for my gaming community I wanted to make sure I have a descent amount of members or a good amount of players to help out if needed :)
