Thf -> Nin Where?

Title says it all. Cannot believe ARR launched without a thief style class. its a slap in the face all the way back to FF1(where my team was Thf Rdm Whm Blm)! I know, im sure its been said already but its such a terrible crime!

If they ever add corsair, i could totally see thf having two paths like arcanist.

Thf + Gladiator -> Ninja
Thf + Arch -> Corsair

or something like that, maybe throw some mages in there instead of glad + archer.

Also.. i would just like to say overall i think that role of support seems to be kinda missing. Yeah we got bard but it dont seem the same like brd and cor did in 11, seems like sch is kinda fitting that role more.

thf+thm/cnj-> ninja, ninjutsu technic cover most element

corsair will surely come from the musketeer.

I dunno if I would say its a slap to the face, I mean, not everyone likes thiefs.

They obviously had to make some concessions just because they don't have enough time.

If you look at it objectively, there are already 5 DoW classes and only 3 (4 if you count scholar/summoner as separate) DoM classes.

And remember scholar/summoner was a late addition. So if you think about it, if they had put in thief instead, we would've only had ONE healer and ONE offensive magic class, which would've been kinda lame.

Thief is iconic to be sure, but ninja certainly less so, and Corsair even less so.

My personal take is they'll probably add some sort of mage, along with either corsair (for a second ranged dex dps) or thief (melee dex dps) sooner rather than later.

It is closer to 2 tank 2 healer 2 melee 1 ranged 2 caster

But I hope they fix melee mechanics first though, it would make melee more popular.

Also are you sure they're adding thief? It seems tons of people are in favor of dark knight (i don't even know what a dark knight is lol, should've just named it "big sword guy") instead.

while i'm sure thief and others are in the plans for sometime, we will likely see 2nd jobs added for all the classes in game now before we will see new classes added to the game. thief and others that make no sense comming off our current classes will not be seen for a while if you ask me

Thief and Ninja definitely sound like they will go together some way. The way the game works is that jobs use the same weapons as the classes they started with. Both Ninja and Thief can use dual daggers. Like Silentwindfr said the Corsair would likely come from a Musketeer.. since the classes need to share weapons.

THF + PUG/THM = NIN sounds about right to me.

I'm hoping for a MRD + THM/LNC = DRK myself. The scythe model can easily be a 2 handed axe that Marauder already uses.

yes! its a slap in the face, not only did they have thf in the original and first ff, they also had it in some kind of incarnation in every game, either as a job or as a character(yuffie, zidane, locke, rikku). two main characters were also thieves in the final fantasy series(locke ff6, zidane ff9). to say ninja is not iconic tells me you must have come into the series very late, it was one of the original jobs in final fantasy(If you had a thief knighted in ff1 you became a ninja), do i need to mention shadow from ff6?? yuffie in ff7? It was also the ONLY other tank in ff11.

I was never a fan of Thief's but they are most definitely a missing piece in the assortment of classes/jobs. If we talk about thief's like Locke, then we would be doing an injustice not to have a machinist like Edgar!

If you give a pugilist a dagger instead of a fist weapon and change the names of certain skills ITS A THIEF.
