SE's approach to botting......

Are SE actually doing anything about botting.......

I was doing Botany the other day around tranquil i think it was and there's the usual bots teleporting around under the map (reported).

then i decided to go farm fleece and OMG bots galore.....!

and you just cant compete, i cba to pull other mobs to the bot to distract it........so iver reported them all...

I know SE need to monitor and find out how these people are doing this but its pretty simple, gaming keyboard macro's

I just wish they added a way to kick someone off your account, I helped my friend get his account back yesterday. he's been at the hospital for 4 weeks now and yesterday I noticed his char logged in so I called my friend asking him if he got home, and the answer was no.

anyway I then logged in for him, changed his password and added a security token for him, sadly I still couldn't kick the person off even by trying to log in

I then used the live chat and it seemed to go well till he required me to show photo ID... even though I had all the other details, account name, birth date, real name. could even provide the game codes used for both activating the game AND the gametime card

to take it a step further i decided to trace their FC they were a member of on Lodestone and contacted the leader of those FC's and have them aware of what their members were doing, and i was surprised to get positive responses from those i contacted.


come on SE bring out the ban hammer on these people they are a toxic breed.........

I reported a telebotter yesterday when I was chopping ash logs. Today go back to chop more. oh look, the same person is still there blinking back and forth blissfully while I run around in circles like a chump. I reported him again. I wouldn't be surprised to see him there again tomorrow.

Look just hire gamers to be GM's, or offer promos or soemthing to ppl to voluntter as GM's. If you gave me a free sub for example, I'd put in a few hours a week to look for cheaters no problem.

yea but mayin but that would just be abuse by douches,

but as a temporary measure for the sheep farm botter i discovered if you can leech a lob to there bot with the sheep included and try to trade with them continiously it will eventually kill them, but 15 minutes later i go back he has returned to HP and came back but move out of leech range of surrounding mobs.....

SE increase leech range or put high mobs around so it make this sort of activity hard to carry out and easier for the honest farmer/mmo player

their approach is terrible. you can have hundreds of people report one botter and they'll STILL be around two weeks later. SE is making a ton of subscription money off this game and it's rather disappointing that we're seeing almost no action taken against those bots.

Meh when I played XI just before ARR launched, i witnessed a teleport hacker farming pop items for a 1mil gil drop NM. Reported him, talked to gm, witnessed him doing it again etc. he's still there. I think there just in i dont give a **** mode right now, or they're desperate for subs. Theres no other excuse for logging in everyday and immediately having to blist 3 people just to see the chat.

did you ever consider that SE is making money off bots as well? many say they'll quit over bots, gil sellers, etc, but how many do? now those bots and farmers are paying sub as well so find me a business that is willing to remove anonymous people who are paying them from their game?

more like stealing other people's accounts that they paid for. are you aware that a significantly large portion of accounts the gil sellers/botters use are stolen/hacked? they're absolutely nothing like us honest paying customers.

May not work on gathering bots, but can spam trade on the mob farming ones. Even if the bot cancels the trade, spamming it will stun them enough to die after a bit.
