NM gear from Guild Leves......

I opened the chest and it tells me "You obtain an Allagan Runestone - Rhalgr." But I obtained nothing and the chest disappears.... Then when I call a GM, I get a response of "You may have experienced a bug." in an automated response. This is unacceptable... I demand I get the item the game told me I "received". In fact, the only thing I obtained was anger at the useless GM service of this game.

Thank you for reporting this, ApplePie. I know it is frustrating to expect a reward and it does not arrive. The response from the GMs directs you to submit the report here, like you did, because this is where we primarily handle these reports for FFXIV.

Getting to the report, if you could provide some information about the issue, it would help us to submit a report for investigation:
*When and where did this take place?
*What guildleve was the item a reward from?
*Was your inventory full at the time?
*Did you have any of the "Allagan Runestone - Rhalgr" in your inventory at the time?
*Was the item taken from your loot list after you obtained it from the chest?

Please let us know these answers so we can try to properly diagnose the concern.

*When and where did this take place? - Around 5-6 PM est at Camp Bloodshore on Mysidia server.
*What guildleve was the item a reward from? - Reward was gil, but the Allagan Runestone - Rhalgr drops from the chest.
*Was your inventory full at the time? Partially, two seconds before, a rat pelt+3 dropped into my loot list, resulting in 100/100.
*Did you have any of the "Allagan Runestone - Rhalgr" in your inventory at the time? No
*Was the item taken from your loot list after you obtained it from the chest? It didn't go into my loot list... it told me "You obtain the Allagan Runestone - Rhalgr." I didn't obtain it... chest despawned, and then I get a really rude automated response from the GM I called... I just want my runestone the game told me I received but obviously didn't...

I'm pretty sure you need to have actual space in your inventory to receive the runestone because they are not designed to go into your loot list. If they did go into the loot list, it would be possible to give it to party members which the system of special faction levequests chest rewards does not wish to allow. I'm going to guess it got lost when attempting to go into your inventory just as it hit full. I hope you get compensated for it though because I would be very angry about losing one of those seeing from experience how rare they are. I'm pretty sure the name of the guildleve was what was asked for which is "Wanted: Mammoth and Master" I am assuming.

Yeah you need to have inventory space and check the chest again before it despawns. I know how you feel though I did same leve last night and got my own glitch AGAIN where the chest wont even pop for me just everyone else in my party :(

Very valid point, and I expect the reason for this loss. It had not occured to me before that the runestones would not enter the loot list however it's good to be aware before encountering the same problem as the OP.

I did have inventory space. An item just dropped at the instant I clicked the chest... The chest even told me I obtained the runestone. That's why I'm upset with the lack of response on anything beyond the distasteful automated response from in-game GM and the single response from the moderator on this board. I love how SE doesn't have in its power to give items players legitimately lose from broken game mechanics.
