Stone Vigil
Any tips from fellow tanks on the 2nd to last trash mob room in SV? You know the one with the 2 ice sprites and 2 Dragon things.
With a Black Mage in the party it's just sleep the sprites and deal with the dragons but with no Sleep spell is it best to LOS pull them out the door into the room to get the sprites to group up with the dragons for easy flashing/target switching?
P.S. if you are a summoner (or know one) named Mello Yello I totally need to apologize for the SV run on Sat. That monk was pissing me off and I told the WM to stop healing his dumb ass in hopes he'd quit.

You can always have one person kite while others pull off and kill mobs, don't kite inside the room alone but get outside and run back towards entrance and have another let you or whoever kiting know to bring it back to pull more till you can clear the mobs without kiting.

Is that the one in the room with the chest? I usually ended up just skipping that the reward isn't worth the effort XD. If you have no BLM or WHM and thus no sleep i suppose just have the healer spam heal you and you taunt the mobs off the healer if they pull aggro. I would normally do that on the final mob with 3 Dragons. When they are all together it's easier to AoE them down.

Pretty much what above poster said. If its that annoying chest pull, just death run loot the chest and ignore the trash.

pull them out of the room, just hit your ranged attack, and ran back a bit along the wall (either left or right). That way you force both the dragons, and the crystals to bunch up, then slam some defense buff if you have to, and burn them down.

probably not the easiest way but i get the dps to tank a sprite each, regen on them just about covers the damage leaving 2 aevis for the tank which is fine as long as everyone avoids redfloor

If the WHM's good he can sleep enemies with Repose while healing.
I did so and everything went good.

As other said, I usually just skipped it after running that dungeon 5+ times.
If you really want to kill them, run in tight circles around the two sprites. You won't get hit by their lightning if you keep moving in tight circles, because spells only hit you if you're still in front of the mob at the end of the cast. Do this until enough of the mobs are dead where you can survive without having to run in circles & look like a spaz.
