Endgame gear for BLM: DARKLIGHT set vs VANYA set. Which is the best ?

I've found a lot of information on this subject however, not concrete enough to make me decide which armor would be the most suitable for my BLM. Although, I've investigated that DL lacks crit chance stat, which in the end could have a great impact in your daily activities of reducing mobs to ashes.

Any pointier or piece of advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly in advance :o

Mythos/Allagan >>> HQ Crafts > DL

HQ Crafts give a lot more critical chance and determination without really losing much, but those stats aren't as brutally important as you'd think, at least in small amounts. You just have to ask yourself if you're comfortable spending 600K+ on each 9 tome item equip and a large amount on materia, or waiting for mythos/Allagan drops and using DL. Ideally you'd go for crafts, but that's not chump change, in any way.

Go for full DL and save yourself the cash. Astral HQ accessories are worth it if you have ton load of cash to be able to meld them to their very limit. Mind you as soon as anything drop from Coil for ya it is an automatic replacement to the very best crafted piece you got.

Thx for taking your time to follow up on the matter. Your suggestions made me realize for now it's best to go for DL and depending how the endgame scene goes i might even have to replace that as well :)

I would like to share a personal experience...
I started off playing as a BRD, got him to 50 - geared him up with fully DL equipment and Reliced him up. Now...
All of the sudden i realized that BRD is NOT the class i wanted to play, and re-rolled a BLM.
At this point, for a FC to take me to Coil i needed to farm all those philosophy stones right from the begining - and im not even mentioning the 900 tomes you need for a new relic weapon. So...
Bussiness was good, and i crafted a full HQ Vanya for 3.1m (including the pants, which nearly no one every craft due to their high cost. they cost me 1.1m alone, the highest of them all).

So again, sure, once i hit Coil and get a new drop it will most likely replace my Vanya, but do i need to farm all those tomes in order to get to Coil ? The answer is no...
It's still better then DL, stats wise, and it may take a while untill you get Alagans.
Mind you that DL is the requirement for Coil group, i just speed up my enterance ticket. AND achieved something crazy that few people do, got myself a pricey badass gear that looks amazing too btw.
