The (real) power of being a healer

Yesterday I did the lvl 24 dungeon and there was this jerk complaining because two of us were watching the cut-scenes. "Watch them on youtube", "play single games" and all crap like that. Too bad that I am on PS3 so I couldn't reply accordingly (typing is a nightmare). So I thought about the following:

Since now on I'll watch ALL cutscenes as a healer. I'll make a macro:

/party "Yes, I like to watch the cutscenes. I paid for it. Do you have any problem with that? If you're not happy I may leave. You'd rather wait another 2 hours trying to find another healer?"

Really, people like that guy should be kicked in the butt. Also did anyone notice that usually they are the tanks? Apparently since they are always the first to move forward some of them think they own the game..

It's a power easily abused. I have the luxury of not having to wait an hour for a new group when I ditch a dungeon.

Yes. that is what I meant indeed. As a healer I usually wait less than a minute, even a second to start another dungeon. So I am using it to collect special gear.

This is really a thing? I wish I would run into some snotty little entitled tank that did this. That is just insanity. If you've run the duty before, and can't wait a few minutes for cutscenes, why use the duty finder to run it again? Just get a party of friends to run it and all skip the scenes...I would have made sure to let him die on the final boss before I politely abandoned duty and found another willing party. Never offend your healer.

lol no healer GG! yea this happens alot to players that just want to enjoy the game and all it has to offer. I for one skip cuts now only because ive seen them all and at endgame you just want to be as timely as possible but a lvl24 dungeon shouldn't have many high lvl players running it just for item drops -_- and if he was just a lower lvl tank that felt he could control the pace of the party without the healers consent he was highly mistaken ;P.

seem he was just being a jerk or running the dungeon for a second or third class (either way he has no right to rush others) idk why ppl don't just grp for content they know they want to speed thru!

Frankly - playing MMO (on PS3 or on anything else) WITHOUT keyboard is a nightmare - just plug one into USB port or via Bluetooth. Seriously - you most likely have one spare lying somewhere home anywhere or can get one dirt cheap. If your PS3 is too far for the keyboard cable to reach comfortably get 3 - 5 m / 10 - 15 ft USB extension cable as well. You can get both for price of monthly sub.

In regards of cut-scenes - I personally don't watch them in dungeons (can always catch-up later on in my own pace in the inn) however I have no problems with others watching them at all.

Putting down a line in the sand as a "good guy" is just brinksmanship posturing that has been covered ad nauseum in the forums. The more we cover these canards, the more we will be stuck living them in the game.

And you can start a pull without a healer. It may go well, it may go poorly, but the healer will be cleaning it and having argument number two about the wipe or death. It's certain to be a more divisive argument than the stupid 30 seconds you won't get back on a cutscene.

So get a keyboard. Any USB one will work; most Bluetooth ones will too. I use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse myself.

So by implication, it is ok to offend other party members because they are more expendable? I'm with you about letting folks enjoy the content, but the "worship me, I'm a healer" mentality is irritating. I'm not understating the role or the difficulty involved, but it would seem to me at least that you last comment should read like this: "never offend your party members." Or perhaps something even more neutral like: "be kind and courteous to your party."

I agree about the cut-scenes though. As a tank, I have no issues sitting back and enjoying a break while scenes are rolling.

I'm so tired of some whm trying to be blm.....
