Free Company Standing

I have been trying to find information on this for about 2 weeks now, but can't seem to find anything. Our Free Company is 'aligned' with the Maelstrom, and have reached <Standing: Allied>, the highest rank available. I figured it might be possible to switch to another Grand Company alignment, so we could rank up our standing to Allied as well. When I tried to do so, the NPC mentions that switching to that Grand Company would lower our standing with the previous one we were with. Has anyone tried to see how much standing you lose from switching? Is it all of it, or just a tier or two? Find it silly to show the standing for all the companies with the other two only always being 'Neutral'...

Interesting question. Does your FC standing actually affect anything in game right now?

Makes the actions you buy and use cheaper and more potent.

Ours is with Immortal Flames so been wondering the same, were all split between the GC's myself with Twin Adder.

I just switched our FC to Adders from Maelstrom the other day. So far it only looks like you lose standing with your prior GC when you gain a level in your new GC standing.

After the swap we stayed at Allied with Maelstrom until we reached Friendly with the Adders. And even then it was a only a minor drop in standing with Maelstrom, but we did lose our Allied standing :(

I've heard rumours that the higher your standing with a GC the cheaper the teleports are in that GC's region. I've not seen anything yet, but I've recorded some costs for checking once we reach Allied with the Adders.

Edit: Just as an added note, you do keep all your hard earned FC seals when you change GC as well.
