getting hit even though im out of red circles.

Well my issue is this. When a boss casts a red circle or whatever on the ground... well more specificaly lets say like titans landslide, even though i run out of it, i still get hit. I totaly see myself out of the mobs AOE but i still get hit most of the time. I have a good connection and never have and kind of lag so i dont understand whats going on here.

a friend of mine watched me play and said it looked like i was still in the AOE even though on my screen i had moved out. It sounds like some kind of issue with communicating with the games server but i dont know.

Lag between your client and the server. I live in Australia, and can run and be standing outside of the orange zones for up to three seconds, and still be hit by them.

Just remember, there's lag for when the orange-zone is displayed on your client, and then lag for your client to tell the server where your toon is. Thing is, the server starts the countdown to fire timer on the orange zone the moment it sends its message out to the clients, and it doesn't care for when you've received it. If the server is congested, it may be a good two seconds before your client even registers the orange zone, and another good two seconds before your client's message to the server gets through to say where you are. If the orange zone has a 3 second countdown time, you're hosed. If you live on the other side of the world to the servers, then throw on an extra 0.5s for each direction.

What would be real nice would be if the server kept track of each client's communication latency and delayed effects specific to each client, so players in general had a fairly uniform play experience somewhat regardless of their location in the world. That'd be a lot more programming effort, but it'd make things fairer for those not living near the servers.

Putting twitch mechanics suitable for and off-line FPS in a on-line game with internet latency and server lag was crass, it may work on a standalone desktop PC, it patently doesn't on a networked system with server software that clearly isn't up to the job, especially in critical fights like the Primals.

Even early fights like the last boss in Haukke suffers this:

It isn't just you. There is server delay and people have told me the duty finder is also lagging a bit still. Hopefully SE clears up some of this lag. It is a big problem. The slightest lag is enough to screw someone.

I had horrible lag earlier when trying to beat last boss in Sunken Temple of Qarn. Those laser things would hit me before I even saw the blue line to show where they were aimed. So obviously moving out of them was impossible. Very, very frustrating when you die to stuff you have no control over, and is literally not your fault.

I will admit though that I don't have hair-trigger reflexes (even though I have successfully raided high end in WoW for years), so it really makes me wonder how much chance I have of being able to do end-game with delays like I saw today.

It doesn't solve all the lag problem with avoiding boss attacks but when you move out of a red circle activate a skill or ability and the server will update your current position. It can be a lifesaver on battles like Titan.

As a tank it sucks. Trying to be the best tank I can be, but getting hit with AOE when you clearly moved out from it, well that really does my nut in.

SE you're making me look bad. lolz

1. The red circle seems to dissapear after the boss/mob has finished casting and not at the same time as you might want.
2. I read somewhere that the server makes a location check every 300ms which add to the problem we're facing.

But general lag between the server and client is of course the biggest problem.
