Is there a way to lock whatever chat mode you're speaking in so you don't have to type the /? command beforehand (like in party chat, instead of putting /p before everything you say)?

Is there a way to lock whatever chat mode you're speaking in so you don't have to type the /? command beforehand (like in party chat, instead of putting /p before everything you say)?
For most of the chat modes you can lock in the chat mode. For party chat, you just type /p without anything else and it will default your chat to party chat, /fc will default to company chat, /l for linkshell, etc.
I think the only ones you can't default are shouts and yells.
Click where it says say and you can pick what to lock it as the above method of /p and /fc don't work
there are also shortcuts to different chat modrs.
party - alt + p
linkshell - alt + l
fc - alt + c
so instead of hitting enter to begin vhat, jist usr these shortcuts.
click on the chat bubble(left of the window and lock whatever chat you want to use with the checkmark.
hit Enter, type /p, hit Enter
So when we enter a dungeon is the chat automaticaly JUST that party so we can just type and it will appear for all party members? I see sometimes things pop up up above in the window in white background bubbles but dont know if that is how chat from other party members appears? is there a way to MAKE this kind of large chat bubble if needed for an emergency?
the in game help pop ups pages may have told us about this but when i did my first dungeon i was the tank and had my hands full so i closed out the help window wihtout clicking on all the pages and they never showed up in my saved Active Help Journal where some of the pages are saved. So i never did get to see all of the tips and there are NONE in the so called Manual.
Entering a dungeon doesn't change your default chat mode. If you want to change the default to party, you have to do so yourself.
The pop-up chat balloons you see (with tiny text) are NPCs talking. Little random bits of flavor text. That's all those balloons show up for, you can't enable them for anything else, and that text doesn't show up in any chat log.
OK thanks, and yes i saw the button for party chat. thanks for the reply much appreciated.
Can any one tell me the codes for different chats, I know /shout and /p but what are the others and is there a shortened version of /shout?
