Question regarding Macro's and using Razer Nostromo

Please be reminded that this is a serious question from a legit player who is against illegal botting while answering to my question.



I have a question regarding the Razer Nostromo I am using. Its like a lefthanded gamepad with rebindable keys. With the Nostromo it is possible to make gaming macro's, and my question herefor is the following.

Its possible to make a macro that does a mouseclick in intervals to assist with mining, I already got botany up to 50 using a normal keyboard so I know what a clicking spam it is. Im not talking about movement macro's or whatsoever, It's purely a click, interval, click, interval, click interval macro to mine after I manually move to the next node, select the thing i want, and use the macro again.

Is this allowed or not? This is a serious question from a legit player and I would like to hear serious reactions to it. Thanks guys (and girls ).

And obviously I will not be using this if its not allowed.

do what you want i use orbweaver (mechanical version of nostromo) and i use it for things like that all time or for chaining spells :D

yea the orbweaver is almost the same as the nostromo, i ask mainly because it makes the whole grind a lot easier (got botany to 50 without, and mining at almost 30 now without, but using mouse buttons on my mouse atm is not an option due to a burnwound. It remains however that because its programming button presses SE might see it as a 'bot', even tho its only those 4 mouseclicks, and I do everything else myself manually while sitting and playing.

How do you guys make the macro for this? i have a razer naga and all i want is so that when i open the gathering window when doing leves i can press the macro that will click the mouse button 6 times. After a days gathering yesterday ive been left with a sore wrist and sore finger due to clicking..i dont want to develop RSI! Or any good guides out there for a person unfamiliar with how to programme this mouse!

A Naga macro wouldn't work properly. You would get as far as opening the gathering window and then nothing would happen. This is because it won't default to an item without you moving the mouse over it.
If you get a hold of a gamepad, you can combine Xpadder and the Naga macros to get some interesting results.

It's probably technically against the rules, but I seriously doubt anyone will ever be banned for it seeing as its such a minor thing and they can't even get around to banning the blatant offenders.

SE's not gonna ban people over tiny things like this, it's just not good for business. They're much more concerns (I would hope) with the bots that are completely automating everything, gathering for hours and hours with no player input or attention required.

It is possible to implement using mouse A4tech x7 series (that I have. I think, it is also possible to implement for Razer mouse also, but I don't have it). Idea is simple - this mouse has macro commands to position cursor at specified coordinates, then add clicks and delays when needed.

I implemented similar macro to login into game, when it was a major problem. (ban me)

EDIT: maybe it is possible to implement for nostromo if use gamepad interface (num-pad on keyboard).

This isn't exactly accurate. Once you gather once from a node, if you hit the 0 (zero) on the number pad....you can gather the same items repeatedly from the same type of node with just hitting the 0 button. So you can make a macro for a programable button. It would look something like this. 0, to select the node. 0, to open the node...then 0 about 5 or 6 times with a 2 second delay between to gather the last item you gathered by clicking on it.

I sometimes use a macro like this for doing gathering leve's, when my wrist is bothering me from using the keyboard.

edit: Keep in mind however, you can't move your mouse, at all...or it will mess up the macro.

instead of mouse clicks, try using numpad 0

You can use keyboard/gamepad/mouse macros to do whatever you want as long as it's not completely automating the process. If it allows you to do things in the game while leaving it unattended, that's absentee play which is against the TOS.
