Both my girlfriend and i notice that other players (including eachother) in the game dont run smoothly at all. When players pass by or ride their mounts they seem to be moving in chunks rather than walking like my own character does. Is this just something i have to live with, its pretty annoying.

I also have this issue.
It depends on the speed your client receives the info or that char sends its own position data. The difference may be too big for the client to make a "smooth" animation and just sets the model at the new position.
