Selling gear: can I tell if it's part of a gear set first?

I'm starting to collect a lot of gear and I'd like to sell some of it before I get too burdened, but I have a hard time knowing what is "safe" to sell and what I may be using as part of a set for another class.

Is there some way I can sort this out so I know which gear I've completely outgrown and am not using for any of my classes?

Unfortunatly, right now there is no way to tell without sifting through all your gear sets. But iirc there was a dev post recently saying that this feature will be implemented in some way soon.

Wait. Are there any gear set? How do I identify them? And since we are here, do the gears colours mean anything? Sometime when I switch class it complains that not all gears have the same colour.
