Fresh 50

Hey there. I'm currently only 48 LW but I'll reach 50 today. I was hoping to make myself the Wildling's Cesti for my monk's AF. I have all the materials but unfortunately the requirement for 1 star recipes is like 255 Control and 275 Craftsmanship for Hippo Leather.
I just made myself a Dodore chestpiece NQ with 3 Craftsmanship materia in it and I'm still sitting at like 222 Craftsmanship and 211 Control. I was wondering what kind of gear and what method of obtaining the gear you need to reach the Control and Craftsmanship levels for 1 star recipes?
It seems even Leatherworking AF requires at least 1 star to make.

Level 50 weapon and level 50 hq off hand will give you a huge boost. If it's not enough, maybe get the patrician's coatee for another boost. That definitely should be enough. I made my weaver AF gear with that. Once you get your AF gear, you can pretty much HQ most 1-star stuff with proper class skills.

Thanks! I havent done the 45 quest yet, 3 HQs of things I dont normally make was like ugh. I hope those weapons and of hand are cheap. :)

Level 50 weapon is from class quest. The offhand on the otherhand, i'm not too sure about for LTW but the GSM wheel was 30k and Weaver wheel was 50k on my server (exodus).

Full set of Hq militia gear will cover you easy.
