Carrying over Character Settings from PC to Laptop

Before I begin with my technical issue, let me first explain why I alternately play on PC and Laptop. My roommate refuses to play on the laptop because it overheats & crashes if it's not laying over the vent on the floor to blow cold air underneath the fan. So while he's on the PC, I'm laying on the floor on the laptop. However, whenever the PC is available, I obviously choose to play my account on the PC because of it being more comfortable.

With that said, I will adjust & save things like Gear Sets, Hotbar layouts, etc. on the PC, but whenever I go back to the laptop (and vice versa) and log into the game, the hotbar will be completely reset; every slot in the hotbar will be blank except for the default teleport, sprint, return, etc... In addition, gear sets don't save when I switch from PC to laptop.

Because I switch often, this becomes a big issue. I can understand the hotbar not carrying over, because I use a controller on the laptop versus the PC which uses the different layout... so maybe that's the reason for that happening. But whenever I log back onto the laptop after playing on the PC, the hotbar will be reset AGAIN, despite me having a saved layout on the laptop for the same class/job previously. And the gear sets should definitely carry over to other systems when logging into the same account, right? I don't understand that part... Can someone please explain it to me?

On a Windows 7 system you'll find this folder in "My Documents": "My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn"

In there you'll see one or more folders with names like: FFXIV_CHR005002134C5DFDC9

It is here that the game stores all the settings for each of your characters; I have no idea if it's possible to discover the name of the character somewhere in there, probably is since logs are in there.

Basically if you copy the entire contents of this folder to another PC keeping the names the same then when you run the game on that PC all the settings for the character should be the same as they were on the original PC.

I do this regularly using a file syncing tool, I use Second Copy but there are many free packages that will do it when switching two accounts around between my two games PCs.
