why I will not continue playing after initial month period

It's been quite a while now that European players experience severe lag-spikes.
This issue made me stop playing White mage at level 44,
and starting anew as a black mage.

Now I'm BLM level 50, and the problem has got worst.
The content is still very interesting, but it's so frustrating to play with these lags,
it's ruining the fun.

Furthermore the "community" after level 50 is not cool at all.
When you get into a dungeon, people look at your gear and if you're not well equipped (to their eyes), they disband, or worst ask you to leave.
They forget everybody (including them) have gone through the same situation before.
These people are also less tolerant (maybe because the game forces them to do the same dungeons again and again)....

It would be good to think about a way to rank officially your progress after reaching level 50, and selecting players accordingly with duty finder.

I do not think its fair to dislike the game due to a crappy community. Almost every online community has issues like this. It seems that DBags are the majority in most communities.

But I 100% agree with you on the server quality issue. I am not going to be subbing myself, and it is mainly due to the last week of server performance. First we had to put up with all the BS from Open Beta spilling over into Early Access. Then official launch happens and everything was a disaster for another 2 weeks. Then we get one good week of service. Now we are back to square one where the game is basically unplayable.

I like the game, I like the content, and I want to play. But sadly it doesnt seem that SE feels the same way.

I didn't say I dislike the game.
I really like the content, the end of story quest were epic.
I try to explain what removes the fun. Mostly the network problem. Some adjustments could be done about the bad behavior of a part of the community.

for me it was the lack of smoothness of other players movement and general lag issues. Its like wathing an old Quake server setup in your back bedroom. :( might pop back in 2 months to see if they have fixed it. Until then, i will try and find something else.

It's a pity no one in the dev team (or yoshi-p) have ever talked about this issue so long...
I hope they will acknowledge this issue in the next producer live letter in October.

If they don't, the discrepancy with the players that don't have lag issue will be to large, and it won't be playable again (several mounths later)

There is a lot of improvement to be made.

Most noteably is the return of filters in chat, FC window, search, and auction house. No one knows why this was removed other than to annoy players and give SE something to easily improve on. Also the linking of items in chat needs to be back.

That alone would bring back a lot of people. The game is amazing but simple things like that that are in every other game for 10 years missing is a problem.
