Fantastic encounter in duty finder:)

I just wanted to put something happy on here:) last night my boyfriend & I (he rolls dragoon, I'm a summoner-we play in the same room & we are a good team) were using duty finder for the 3rd time on a certain dungeon. We'd had mediocre teams the past few times & the last our healer bailed at the final boss-being replaced by a guy who wouldn't heal...didn't know his job. We were frustrated but tried again & ended up with an amazing group. We died a few times but talked about strategy & everyone listened & it was epic. They were also a team to begin with, so the communication was top notch. Best experience ever, & I had to share. It's too bad they're on a different server, so we prolly won't ever see them again:( regardless, I had to share. I can only hope for more enjoyable people like that to run dungeons with:)

I've only used DF once so far, and as a class I don't usually play (GLA). The group was patient with me and I was able to hold threat pretty well and protect our healer. They showed me which order to pull the mobs in so we wouldn't get overwhelmed. Great, successful experience, and I didn't even have to skip the cutscene. It makes me feel badly for those who have had such a terrible time with DF. I can only hope the majority of players are like the ones I met in DF.

Your thread will die because it's not about a bad experience.

But I've had mostly positive experiences in the DF. There was only one time I had to leave because my Tank didn't know how to tank at level 40. I've had multiple wipes, hell, I was even the sole reason we wiped on Garuda 4 times. But we went back at it and finished it. When learning Ifrit, I tied 3 times that first real run. Healer just brought me back.

I understand the negative stuff, but I've had a lot of positive experiences as well. Thought I would add to your list op :)

I've had such experiences, and it give me such a fuzzy feeling inside.

Not to steal your thread but I ran Titan HM for the first time last night using DF, and all 5 groups I was in were a nice group of people. Some of them already had relics and were willing to explain to new people the strategy. We didnt actually defeat Titan but at least they didnt rage or harass people.

Last night I did Stone Vigil for the first time via Duty Finder. Incidentally, it was also my first time using SCH through any dungeon... I'll just say that for the first 20 minutes of the run I accidentally left my Emerald Carbuncle in "Sic" command mode instead of "Obey" resulting in many AOEs and giving the healer a hard time. It wasn't until after we wiped to a group of dragons that I realized what I was doing wrong, even so, the healer was extremely patient with me.


In short, we wiped about 5 times total, and I died at about 1/4th the last boss's health... pro I know, and the run took about 65 minutes, but everyone was extremely helpful and offered suggestions across the board for improvements.

Overall, I had a lot of fun (even if this was my longest dungeon run by far and I over estimated how much time I had available to play) and I'm one step closer to the end of the story, which I intend to continue using Duty Finder for. I haven't had a bad Duty Finder experience yet! I hope it stays that way. =)

Just a shout out to Admiral Artbar, Gabriel Nightforest and Phoenix Skye for the Stone Vigil run. Also, thanks Phoenix for the kind words at the end there, I was feeling like a pretty crappy player after that last death. :)

I've had some really good DF Experiences. Occasionally I'll run with two friends and we'll just pull a healer from the DF. Those are good experiences as well save that if I find out the healer is actually a girl (or pretends to be one) my friends yell at me for flirting instead of DPSing like I'm supposed to be doing. :confused:
