SMN and Turn 1 Coil

So the other day I did my first attempt at turn 1 with a PUG. On Caduceus I was one of the main slime spawners in phase 1 as well as phase 2. One thing I noticed was that I was taking a lot of damage because I was getting the slime low at a slower rate. I was trying to save at least one energy drain for every slime and was ruin II spamming and ruin I at times I had enough of a gap. I was too hesitant to put any dots on the slime for fear of killing it by accident and I was also unsure about putting garuda on it because I didnt want her to accidentally kill it.
So basically what im asking is, what is the best way to go about slimes? What do you do to burn it (especially those that appear on the tank's platform) and keep enough distance that you wont get hit, but wont make it explode.

Edit: So I logged out on my SCH for some reason, but my gear is probably not the issue. It's almost full DL, with AK filling in the few spots and I have relic +1.

Why on earth is your group having a summoner pull and damage the slimes .. quite possibly the worst dps to do it. Have your bard do it.

SMN isn't the best class to be on slims but if you have no choice I would say toss out a Bio, then Ruin spam it/send pet. But you have to remember to pull the pet off when it gets low so have a follow command keybinded will help.

I would imagine it was because I was the only other range DPS aside from a single BRD. BRD was pulling slimes on the other side. But yeah, I was not keen on doing it in the first place but no choice.

if you guys are confident enough, you can just burn through the boss entirely without popping a single slime (maybe 1 slime before the split) just make sure to multi dot as much as you can on both snakes, I remember doing this because our group felt lazy going through the mechanics (also worked fine on ADS of turn 1), and everyone just tried to kill it without popping a slime (it worked out perfectly on first attempt with no slimes, 25% left on boss HP) mind you, one of the pug dps only had 3 dark lights some toxotes and a pink level 40 something jewelry lol and we still managed through it and on third attempt of no slimes we managed to kill it, I imagine that a full group of mostly darklight items will do just fine.



(btw, for some reason when both snakes are low, the tanks merge them together and they kite the boss with sprint, imo it wasn't really needed because it was about to die, it's just that we weren't sure about the gap timers on when we must kill the second snake when the first one dies, so this is what they did)
