Materia help - no stats

Hi,

I recently got someone to add two 'Battledance material III' to my Barbarians Bardiche (item level 55) for relic weapon (planning ahead).

The materia says it can be used on items > 45.

Why does it show 'Parry +0' on both? Is it because spirit bond is only 50%?

Thanks very much for help. I've looked online and watched guides, but I am struggling to find the answer. It could be right in front of me!

I have 6 items at item lvl50 that I want to add VIT III material to, but I am confused as to why my weapon did not add the materia, so I holding back for the time being.

Items have a limit on the stats they can have on them. When you request the meld, the window tells you if the item is "too low level" for the meld to be fully effective (and shows you specifically what stats will not actually be added). You can continue with the meld anyway, but it is a waste of a Materia.

ah - a limit on the stats! I had no idea, thanks very much for quick response - very helpful.

Is there a way to look up the limit of each stat per item or determine this?

Or do you have to buy materia and request a meld?

edit: I just found this which sort of answers my questions: http://nix80.livejournal.com/22903.html - HQ items are already maxed out on the stats and you can only add other stats...
