Who was higher in rank. Nael Van Darnus or Gaius Van Baelsar

I always had this doubt?
Were they equals or did one out rank the other?

The middle word in the names tells of rank.

So Nael Van Darnus was the same rank as Gaius Van Baelsar.

Most likely equals unless lore posts otherwise... they both were the leaders of their own legions so just like in the roman legions they were of equal rank

I believe they were both Legatus in charge of two different legions.

They are both Legatus. They are of equal rank. Darnus was the 7th Legatus and Baelsar is the 14th. The numbers don't matter though, there are just at least confirmed to have fourteen Legatus in the empire.

Also the other "minions" that we now know... Livia, Nero etc.. i dont ever recall seeing them or being mentioned in 1.0

They're Gaius' minions so they are new and weren't in 1.0 think of them as his highest underlings and the chick his personal toy

Yeah, they rank is Legatus, the 'van' in their names is just there as noble nemonics, like Ludwig von Beethoven. I think their ranking structure is akin to that of the Roman Legions.

Legatus is after all roman
