Intelligence materia - What takes it?

I have goldsmith that just hit 50. Tried to meld intelligence materia into scepters and rings for my black mage (lvl 43), but kept getting the message that the item's potential was too low for the materia.

Out of curiosity I tried to attempt melds with other things in the armory chest, and the only thing that accepted the intelligence materia was a pair of spectacles.

Do scepters just not take intelligence materia? Apart from spectacles, what takes intelligence materia?

If the item already has intelligence it will probably be already capped so it won't get anymore.

The reason behind it is to cap main stat per ilvl item/set, otherwise HQ crafted gear would be far better than ilvl90 drops in coil or AF2 gear.

If you want to make use of the int materia...look at some of the healer accessories. Putting int into those makes them a pretty good solo set.

Int will have a limited use in Gathering gear as well. The node bonus is tied to an attribute. I think they are Strength, Int and mind depending on the bonus.
