PS3 turn off

After I log out, i cannt turn off the ps3 with the stck (only manualy pressing the off button on the machin).
Is this normal?

Yeah, it is weird. If you "Shut Down" it goes back to the sign on screen, and at that screen you can't use the PS button to quit the game or shutdown the box. Nor is there an option to exit in the game itself. It's very weird. What's weirder is you *can* use the PS button while you're in the game. What I do is "Log Off" to go back to the start screen and then use the PS button to quit or turn the PS3 off from there. Using the off button on the PS3 to do a force shutdown is probably not all that good an idea; this should be safer.

Yeah I do the same as well, at the login screen if you mantain the ps button pressed for 2-3 secs you will have the choices to close the game and turn of the system.

Hold down the Ps button and it will give the option

Quit game

That's how I do it and no you shouldn't just click ''turn off''. Same as a desktop you just flick the power button when your done with something you gotta log out and then turn off, why cause it's safer. Your ps3 will eventually experience lax issues.

Not everyone mind, but it's just the norm to do so.

Thanks for the "hold down the PS button" option. I hadn't been aware of that. I like that better than quitting at the Start screen.
