Got 100 points as well this week, I'm never touching this again to maybe do the scrubby 80 point set every now and then. My poor gil pocket suffered and I wish I knew the jet black could been replaced earlier. :p

I know the pain! My wallet was hurting those 1st 3 weeks. I managed to get 100 on the 3rd week with the Samurai. I have been squeaking by with just past 80 ever since. I just put together a gear set I don't care for that I can dye within color range and use it week after week. I can get 70s with that alone. Then I just try to get whatever I can get to get to 80+ and done.
I do something similar, but slightly more wasteful. I buy a new set of level one trash gear each week, do the dyes as needed, then sell them off for 1 gil each when ive got my 80+(i did my 100 with the fishing week since i already had all those items aside from the rod). Combined with the 1-3 actual items i have/seek out, and its an easy/fairly cheap way to go.
Cross-linking hints thread.
There are quite a few different glasses that Goldsmiths can make that are all dyeable. Given this hint, maybe the Elegant Rimless Glasses?
There was that idea, but I also was seeing a decline in activity in this thread every week. I think we're at our lowest point now, there's hardly any discussion here on speculation time (in reddit the speculation threads also declined in activity), and there's not much to talk here when the results come out because a lot of people know how the system works, and just follow the best setup and just go down from there. (Most of the activity in the results are actually people who thought they got an alternative but not, or people who complained about not having the event item)
The reddit usually is also faster in collecting data for the best setup, but that place is usually horrible for questions because only the popular comments floats to top and the newer comments gets forgotten.
I was never averse to someone taking over in a new thread, or weekly, or whatever. Mostly just made the thread cuz it was weird that there wasn't a thread yet at the time. But yeah, think it's reached a point where enough crowdsourcing happens quickly enough that discussion isn't even really needed. It's nice that someone still shares the reddit results here (for people like me that otherwise don't touch reddit).
