I'm right there with you. I've a fair bit of beef with the direction of the game lately myself on many fronts. I'll also see where 5.1 is taking things, but I'm not convinced that it'll go in a direction I find agreeable.

Viera were never the planned race to begin with. Hrothgar was the one they were originally planning but to keep the playerbase 'happy' they decided to make both. Personally I'd have rather they just given us Hrothgar fully this expansion then look into viera down the line if they wanted to add them so badly. For now, I'd rather they not waste resources making the opposite genders of the current ones since there are a lot of fixes that currently need to be done with the ones we have (i.e hoods, full armors, etc.)

If they are planning them? Fine let em, but as it stands their time and money can be better served elsewhere.

As much as i am ok with male viera, im with you on this. And they have stated that viera was concidered during heavensword, they dropped it for au ra, and this expansion they wanted hrothgar but knew how much people wanted viera so figured they would do both but didnt really expect all the backlash. I dont get all the people who say "oh, they should have dropped hrothgar" when i think hrothgar was something this game needed. Its way diffrent than anything else in the game so far except shareing the fact its a feline like miqote. Even still, all viera really adds is yet another human with a diffrent set of ears.

I also dont understand all the people trying to make viera be something its not... So many want smaller males... Or at least males smaller than female, which dosent make sense due to them being tribal amazon ninja warriors of some sort.

I'll keep playing this game as long as I am enjoying the gameplay. Granted, I am starting to completely run out of things to do other than level alt classes (BORING), obligatory dailies (BORING), Gold Saucer challenge log (BORING), and the occasional savage even though there is no point real point in me getting new gear that way - what I have is good enough. I have nothing else to play that's better, rather an MMORPG to play that I think is better, even in this game's current state. I might go back to ESO, but that would be a temporary thing for like a month just to get through the new expac story and stuff like I always do a couple times a year for the past few years. Single-player games are fleeting, might keep my attention a week or two, but I need a good MMO for long-term play, or at least I like to have a long-term game.

The way they handled viera isn't really something that would make me drop the game because of it. I can definitely see where you are coming from with a combination of issues. Honestly, I feel like things coming out are lower and lower quality overall. Story and music is still top-notch. Maybe I played too much of it. I'm not burned out, I just don't have anything to do.. I other MMORPGs when I got to this point I would start going heavy into PvP, ranked, casual - whatever. Unfortunately, PvP is complete trash in this game, pointless to even bother. It's not fun at all. This game is kind of lacking in content like PvP that can be done indefinitely in my opinion.

No, they couldn't. The uncertainty of not knowing if they could add another race at all is what made them chose half and half. Would you have preferred they slap bunny ears on Hroths and call them the official male Viera instead? I highly doubt so.

Its interesting because as far as I can remember Viera was already discussed before HW then they decided to introduce us to Au Ra. They also have said different things in different interviews. One is putting Hrothgar first, another sounds like they had Viera planned due to popluar demand and then noticed that people like the Lupin and decided to add male Hrothgar..

Anyway I would have been happy with either of them if we would have gotten a whole race..and maybe have the race be complete and not at the limited state its right now..especially the Hrothgars with their faces and manes being stuck together.

many saw the concept art of the children and wanted "loli viera"
its also funny how you see so many min height female viera

Let’s wait to see the updated census figures when things have settled a bit before claiming it ‘needed’ them. Agreed on the second paragraph.

Agreed the current races are so unfinished, I would rather them sort those out before they add bunny men and lion women as if they did they would just be as limited as their counterparts. I dislike genderlocks especially when it falls into tired over used tropes but lets sort out the viera and hrothgar first.
