Can turn your old parts into a frame version of the same part, but no idea what you do with the frame.

Looks like there is a new Submersible prototype recipe up.

Seems the nautical map is an entirely new map of sectors.

These frames are materials for new submarine parts.

So yeah, gotta craft a part, echange it for a frame and then use it (alongside many other mats) to build a new one.

edit: Nevermind, those pieces are used in workshop recipes for upgraded versions of themselves, which might have the bonus stats

@Flanny How do you access the nautical maps menu? Was that an item dropped from voyage that you had to use from inventory to unlock, did a voyage unlock the new menu w/o using item, was it just there?

I got the nautical map from Sunken Vault, after which selecting voyage brings up the nautical map menu before letting you select sectors. I forgot to mention that in my excitement.
Discovering one sector in the new map unlocked it.

The new modified parts can be viewed on the marketboard for those of you keeping spreadsheets up with part stats or those just looking to check them out.

Looks like +2 surveillance and +1 retrieval bonus per level beyond 50.

But I don't have the marketboard at work.

<15 minutes later, after updating app>

Companion app doesn't show stats through MB, it only shows Eorzean Database info. Guess I'll be waiting til I get home.

Two of my submarines returned from Sunken Vault, one unlocked the new map and the other one didn't, so it's not guaranteed.

EDIT: even though my second submarine didn't get a message saying it unlocked the new map I'm able to deploy it there anyway.
