That's completely fair and true. To be honest, I hadn't expected to stay alive the entire time, but the boss mechanics weren't tricky to figure out, and the tankbuster/line AoE didn't hit me hard enough to outright kill me. And there was no death wall, much to my consternation.

Had my first time ever run of Worqor Lar Dor trial, as a dancer.
I died 2 times, nobody else died.
I got all 7 commendations at the end of the trial.

It has mechanics in it that have nothing to do with the casual player. I don't use my chat. don't even look at it. As a DPS I pull my Limit Breaks as soon as they pop. Everyone started yelling at me. NOT COOL!!! Put this somewhere else. NOT in the MSQ. Not everyone wants to research how every battle is going to go before the battle. Now I got people on my case. NOT COOL. GET IT OUT OF THERE!!

Alisaie in trust be like.

I was just in The Strayborough Deadwalk as a PCT. And it was me. I was the bad player. That dungeon required a bit too much thought after work, and the deaths were numerous. To whomever gave me that pity commendation at the end, bless your heart. I did not deserve it.

Small vent today.

I've been taking a break from healing because the excitement of the role falls off pretty hard once people know the content. But man...healers in roulettes really make me want to pick it up again. Not because it looks more fun, but because i've just been having some baaad healers and it's making the game actively not fun.

Today even i just died several times in different things due to just not being healed ever after unavoidable damage. Or even when i took one vuln stack on something, just not being healed up in the 10 seconds before the big unavoidable damage. Very frustrating, because to me, healing was the baby mode easy role in this game and just watching them stand there and do nothing drives me up a wall.

I had a WHM earlier just casting medica and cure 2 sometimes... in a level 100 dungeon. Not even glare spamming, just staring at the boss.

Getting Eden's Verse: Furor in Raid roulette is always a ride. Nobody does mechs so up to 30 deaths is typical.

First DPS game in ages...whole team wiped twice including right at the end

Pushing this back up because it got lost in the pile of really stupid posts (and some that are good).

Had a run of Mandy recently that I genuinely think the Dancer just had a beef with literally anyone who asked if they needed help. Their gear was abysmal, they decided to dance partner the other dancer instead of myself (was on RDM) and then got mad at the healer who pointed it out and even jokingly asked if they could have partner if they weren't gonna put it on me, and then pretty much died to every mechanic. I stopped rezzing them and one of the other healers did as well, and then they started complaining when we either asked if they needed help or pointed out a mechanic. I genuinely hope you feel better soon.

(On the dance partner thing I wasn't mad that I didn't get it, just weird that someone asked for it instead and the dancer just got mad)

For the DT EX trials, I got the EX2 mount and have 99 totems from EX1 for the mount turn in. So far so good for me.

So I decided to unlock Viper and give it a go, setup my hotbar and thought I understood my tooltips. I thought I did. Did practice on a dummy for some time, and threw myself into alliance roulette, thinking someone will try to ilvl/alt cheese the roulette or something. Nope, I actually get Puppet's Bunker. Yay!

5 people immediately leave. Oh.

I warned my party that I was still learning Viper. I also didn't realize some people in my party would follow me around like lemmings as I was doing the mechanics but trying to get a better grip on my new job. I guess my hotbar setup wasn't that great, as I was fumbling about a lot on the bosses.

First boss a lot of people die, which was expected. I didn't expect alliance A to just accept their fate when they didn't guess correctly on the knockback mechanic when they were right next to the safe one I was at.

Second boss I read the Formation: Sharp Turn mechanic wrong and thought the pattern was out. The rest of the dps in my party follow me, not realizing my mistake. We die. Dps in my party are upset with me. I replied that I honestly thought it was out. I'm the last one to be raised, and probably rightly so for failing to read a single major mechanic. That, or everyone else in the party is just simply looking down at me for not being up to standard.

Third boss and the long hallway people still follow me, but somehow die from either eating too many vuln stacks or eating mechanics. Last boss was about as bad, with a lot of deaths and somehow our dps stuck with the tank for the tankbuster.

I realize after the run that I'm just too much of a failure to even play Viper.

I just got out of a Dun Scaith, where on the 2nd to last boss, i took a swipe from one of the adds during the add phase. I was at critical health for about 10 seconds, expecting death from the next stray blizzard cast by one of the imps, when the White Mage finally deigns to deliver me salvation in the form of.... a single Cure 3 (there was nobody else near me)

Don't beat yourself up over it. If people are gonna follow you to their deaths after you actively told them you're still trying to get used to a new job and are likely tunnel visioning as a result, that's 100% on them.

Tales of Party Finder EX1...

Ever since i saw there are wings now up for grabs and i personally fear for the difficulty later down the line, i started going into ex1 (and got ex2 achievement in the meantime as well!)

Two things:

1. Four times now seen the mount 3, 11, 23, 46 have been my rolls. All not enough so far.
2. Joined a practice party from start yesterday in ex1. A tank joined. Using CRAFTER FOOD. We could not clear fire tankbuster as the tanks struggled to coordinate their step ins and mitigations.
Later that day i went with a very experienced healer friend who does ultimates and a pictomancer friend who is equally good in my opinion.
Same tank from practice party joined our farm party in ex1.

Story of the session:
Tank dies in fire tankbuster, i desperately try to raise them in time so the co tank had to take two fire tb back to back. Didnt make it in time into the safe zone, died. Got raised into the fire puddle (my bad with rez timing), instantly got the 50k damage tick, had to fight for survival for a few seconds, did actually survive and tank died again during fire tb after my rez.
Tank: Res?

I am still heated writing about this.

But i am gradually improving as a healer, at least it feels that way.

Someday i get the mount. Someday...

Heaven's Legend Sage, doesn't put Kardia on the main tank. What did they mean by this?

You have my sympathies - had almost the same scenario in Worqor Zormor a short time ago. Levelling Viper too - managed to miss every major mechanic and die to just about everything. And the one time the team needed me to be useful - the final boss was down to VERY low health and I was the last person standing (due to having recently been revived)… I die again.
I apologised and bailed at that point to be honest - partly because I was ashamed at my utterly dire performance and partly because I wasn't convinced I had time to run the whole fight again anyway due to R/L. I know whoever replaced me in that team would've been far better than me.

Honestly, I think anything you need to activate/apply is kinda dumb in dungeons...I forgot my DNC partner half way into the dungeon after not playing for 1~ year and no one said a word until I was looking at the party list then an 'oh...' hit me.

I also forgot kardia...I'm not a legend tho but I did dabble in savage lmao

Wife gets dangerously low while running out of Cooldowns, Legend Healer finally targets her. Wife Dead--> WIPE.
We go again. Healer stares blank at my Wife. No regen, no Heals. Wife pulls less on purpose, she gets dangerously low. Healer still stares blank at my Wife-----> WIPE.

Alpha Legend Healer left the Group.

Summary: Just another Credit Card Legend.

I'm kinda the complete opposite lol, applying Kardia/DP on the right target asap is so deeply ingrained in me I'm almost certain my brain has wrinkles shaped like the buff icons lmao.
I probably should've added this to the initial post, but even after I asked for Kardia they didn't put it on me and even shielded the OT when I had the TB :( I guess my expectations are too high for legends.

At least I got to be smacked silly by Vauthry!

One time on an alt, I had a sage put kardia on herself. At first I thought it was an accident because i ran out of range before she could, so I waited a sec for her to correct it and she didn't. So then I figured since I was a warrior she had full faith in my immortality anyway and wouldn't have to heal me at all, which would have been flattering if that was the case.

She proceeded to spend the entire dungeon spamming regular prognosis.

My brain is as smooth as a scrying ball, no place for wrinkles, if there's one Zenos resides there so it doesn't count.

Jokes aside...If you play the job often, you're less likely to forget or for it to be a muscle memory of sorts. For me sometimes I play random jobs in normal content to learn something or out of boredom (sometimes I call it griefing when I'm 100% yoloing the job).

I don't think you should expect much from savage peepo or ultimate, most of the time, it's a 'I did this content so much and finally cleared it'....For example I dabble alot in phys range, but I sometimes queue as melee or other roles to have fun, my braincell doesn't do well with positionals so I might be eating the occasional fun stack. I think same goes for mentors ahaha

But yeah idk I've seen plenty of legends and mentors warm the floor that I don't expect anything from anyone at all anymore

I was removed from a group for saying we don't have to put ourselves down, we're doing okay.

Been doing some leveling roulettes with some friends that started to play
Was wondering has anyone else noticed an increase trend of people doing W2W pulls to the boss room but sleeping the mobs before the room then entering the boss room when possible. Or just having someone run ahead to the boss room to trigger the 15 second teleport.

People done that a lot in ARR/HW for a few months but it quickly died off because unless you are with a coordinated group you usually wipe before the 15s. People don't do it now because trash dies so fast it's not even worth the effort. Whoever is doing it now are just candy men that haven't a clue what they are doing.

Another day, another Lab. Dragon gets pulled away from the centre, as usual in Crystal town. Dragon gets pulled all the way back. Most of the damage dealers move closer to hit it.

There is barely anyone left on the platform. Almost no one can hit the skeletons before they're running to the dragon. We take full damage from them.

What Was The Point

Have you ever seen someone simp so hard for Honey B. that they purposefully eat every single heart and can't survive 8 vuln stacks as a tank? Had that earlier this week with a random war tank and I'm just utterly baffled as to why they thought doing that in a group of randoms was a good idea. Even going as far as screaming it in party chat was just a bit too much. Each time the heart mechanics came up he would purposefully eat them while crying out 'YES MY QUEEN!'

Holmgang does not and will not outlast the mechanic, y'all. All of my heals as a whm will absolutely not be able to save your ass at that point, especially when you've hit 8 vuln stacks.

That really wasn't something to heal. When the damage you get from standing in the heart puddles outdoes your healing, even slapping a benediction on them isn't going to work. That's how fast he would go down.

Why is it some tanks are always in 'Gotta go fast' mode? I've had some really bad experiences in A Raids with tanks that don't respect new people being there or ignoring the fact they're watching cutscenes.

One day I was in WoD with a friend, I was running RDM and someone in alliance said they were new..I try to do the good thing and explain mechanics in alliance chat, but Everytime, our tank pulled as soon as they got there, not waiting for anyone else. By the time I tried explaining Cerberus, I just...I gave up I guess. They just pulled as I was explaining. My friend calls the tank out and the tank says 'yeah, so?' and someone else pipes up asking my friend 'is this your first time playing?!' by the time we got to Cloud of Darkness I admittedly did the bare minimum since I felt..I dunno. Empty?

The other day I did two runs; Tower at Paradigm Breach and WoD again. At the final boss people call out 'C has cutscenes.' A tank goes and pulls anyway with others going 'Bruh!' 'Not cool' with the tank not saying anything.

Second WOD run we get new peeps. After I explain Cerberus, I end up getting knocked out, and no one revived me through the rest of the fight. I even asked in Party Chat 'May I please get a rez?' when the fight is about to end, no response from either healer.

A Raids never felt so bad..

Did M4 normal sunday night. Please as a healer to others if you cant heal and dps without causing a negavtive impact. Then focus strictly on healing and forgo dps until you get more practice. Its been a long time since I have seen a vote abandon after two wipes cause one healer failed at their job.

Actually I remember a story from when I was taking my alt through ShB because I wanted to re-experience (suffer) through the story in preperation for EW....

I was queueing as a DRK throughout the expansion so I was chilling when I reached Mt. Gulg.

I notice I'm struggling to live during pulls so I do baby pulls (I don't mind adjusting to a weak healer etc plus I think that dungeon has some scuffed/hard pulls so I don't expect much)

First boss:
Healer dies instantly
DPS #1 dies almost instantly
DPS #2 is alive, but now my options are like, juggling TBN between us and using mits

Sadly, we can't finish it, so we go again

Same thing, healer and dps die almost immediately.

This happened multiple times until me and the other DPS managed to get through the first boss.

Second boss is the same, I had to duo it with the one dps that lived. At this point the dungeon was around 45mins long? It really made me wish I was on my PLD...

I had to sadly leave that dungeon. I don't think a vote kick would've passed (not that I believe in it in this situation I guess), so I hoped they'd get lucky and get a PLD/WAR to carry them because the last boss imo would be hell without a healer all the way. I felt really bad for leaving that other DPS behind, but I couldn't have it in me to waste more time because I knew this dungeon is going to be a lockout one at this rate. I think this and another instance are the only times I actually left a duty.

I think maybe me leaving might've given that one dude the pass to actually dip out. I tried reaching out to him after I left to offer queueing together but he was still in an instance. I was so upset by this experience lmao

I don't mind being able to carry people like this, whatever their reasons are for falling over like this, but I couldn't do much on DRK, I can't do much without a healer and a dps for an entire fight.

Second instance was a SAM/NIN combo that was not aoeing in Dohn Mheg. The tank dabbed out after we asked them many times to please aoe and we used the translate feature...I left too because I didn't want to sit and heal this, no matter what tank we get. This will just be a miserable experience and I was having a fever back then.

These are like...the only two dungeons I actually ever left. I feel bad for the first one, but not the second one (though I feel bad for whoever had to fill for that group).

The feeling when you call out a leecher in Aglaia and boot them before the last boss, and then also later in the day on another alt several people call out a troll tank in Bunker and the votekick fails when said troll tank is in your party. This was yesterday.

Like legit the tank was taking our boss around the arena trying to bait their TB beams on other alliances, I initiate a vote kick and it fails. If that troll tank reads this and the others that rejected the vote kick yesterday read this, I hope your future savage rolls are always 1s.

I dream of getting co-healers that bad in normal raids because it guarantees I have something to do aside from Glare spam.

I've seen wipes to almost everything in Labyrinth of the Ancients before. Dropping the Bone Dragon right where the adds spawn so there's no time to deal with them, not enough people on the Atomos corridors causing the iron giants to come in and cleave everyone to death, getting all the boulders destroyed on Behemoth King so there's nowhere to hide from meteors, more Ancient Flare kills than I care to count. Once even to the three demon encounters before the Bone Dragon because somehow all of the healers got locked out and the tanks were, well, really bad. Until today, the only fights I'd never seen a wipe on were Thanatos and the Allagan Bomb.

Now, I can only say I haven't seen a wipe on Thanatos.

I'm still not even sure how that happened.

Ah yes, the funny moments when you get a tank who has the "you pull you tank" mentality. I don't use sprint and also as a melee dps I use arms lenght if I am going to be hit by the mobs before the tank to help them out a bit while standing still so they can grab the mobs. Still in 2020 + 4, we get tanks who get mad and petty for no obvious reason. :)

Please make sure to keep your meteors out of King Behemoth's hitbox. We wiped because of this.

As a DPS, this happens too often.
And when you manage to save yourself with Second Wind/Bloodbath just to die 20s later because no heals.
