I can second this. I got my codes finally, but when I called them they said it had to be a "Square Enix Product" for at least 199 SEK. This was not listed in the promotion.

I only watched the Live Letter and it was in Japanese so I may have missed it but...am I right in assuming that this wasn't brought up at all during the event?
The wording goes:
And yes, I had to grab Deus Ex because they didn't have anything cheap... I don't know, I think Deus Ex is a FPS game... which is the only genre of games I don't play ._.Quote:
Make a qualifying purchase of at least €19.99 (or 199 kr) at local GameStop stores in Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Norway or Sweden to receive a promotional code.
Yeah, was the same for me... (as I've said before in this thread, had to buy Deus Ex for 60£... and I don't play FPS games \o/ The last FPS game I played was CS 1.5 almost 16 years ago... I do not enjoy them, it's the only gaming genre I don't play except Facebook games (if that could count as a genre)).
I really want Games Master issue 306 code but it was completely sold out here (in Ireland) and no longer availabel for back issue. They seem to have printed far fewer copies for that issue.
Luckily for me I could get the items form Gamestop with the new offer.
Unlike the information page on the website, the requirement is to buy from a limited list of SE games. And I had all of those games apart from Star Ocean 5. Which I wanted anyway but I'd have gotten steam vouchers.
And this seems again underhanded. Yes yes "Qualifying Purchase of minimal 19.99 Euro". I wanted a voucher for my partner also...
Which is why now I have to persue getting crumby 306 and 308 of that magazine that I no longer want to read anymore.
I would buy it in the past. not exclusively every single month, but every other month. And now I am considering not doing that anymore.
And it leaves me question FFXIV policies too. This is the first time for a promotional code, but it was handled so very badly.
Remember, the original Japanese promotion was buying drinks from 7-11, no SE or FF tie-in there. This isn't about promoting Final Fantasy. It's about using Final Fantasy to promote other businesses. (I find the Gamestop one more confusing than Hanabee's in this regard. Why would they specify that it be only SE or Final Fantasy products?)
