No Fugking queue system?! Really?!
1017 and then try later? So I pay for a game that won't let me pick when I play?
HELLOOOOO at lease have a queue system!
Once I'm in I will just never log out. is that how you want to play it Square?

trouble is, when you do get in a queue, how long are you in it? 3min? 2? Certainly not more than 15. The few times I see the queue I'm in almost before i can read what number I am in line.
We need to a queue for log in. Cap the actual number of people logged in as much as you want but having almost no queue makes it impossible for the rest of us to log in at all. If that means telling players they wont be able to log in for a few hours, then so be it, at least it is dealing with them and allowing them to eventually log in rather than not at all.
The other issue is that since people have no idea whether they will be able to get back on when they log off, they are going afk for hours on end when they have other things they need to do (eat, work, etc.). It is a vicious cycle: people can't log on because there are too many people afking, so when they finally get on they don't ever log out and wind up afking themselves to save their place on the server.
Boot the afkers and give us a longer queue.
Square Enix, you have done an awesome job of redesigning the game. It is wonderfully fun to play. Now you are having the problem that too many people want to play. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER. MMOs are generally logging in the millions of players. Upgrade your servers to the capacity you expect them to have a year from now. Don't lose all your players at the start because you lacked the foresight to see that your game was going to be popular and allow servers to accommodate your fans.
If this continues you are going to cut your player base down to the capacity of your servers and lose the opportunity to have a large community of (paying) players.

I understand they're going to be providing some sort of compensation. But there seems to be 1-3 issues arising every single day. Not ok.
I made this blue for you ^.~ Sorry I didn't really read the post I've quoted. It's a bit long and it's probably filled with the same inconsistencies you had last time like "Server will go down!" and even though I want to play my server with my friends as said "Go in any server! You CAN play just you CAN'T play how you PAID to play" ...on and on...
Anyways! Checked out your posts, apparently all you do is rant against people voicing their opinion against these errors! lol, you literally are just floating around starting problems with people that have an opposite opinion.
Also a car with no engine being pushed and me 'driving' it is idiotic. So is putting up with a purchased product that isn't living up to its expectations. Seems like you're the type that might order soup at a restaurant, get a burnt potato instead and be totally fine with it because the shape maybe different but 'technically' right down to the most basic detail, you're there to eat so they've provided you with the service you 'technically' down the the most basic detail, were there to do. That's great and all that you're a pushover but some people don't really have that "people are dying in starving countries so we should keep our mouths shut about poor service!!!!! Free Tibet!!!!" kind of mentality.
I believe you posted a thread before about people ranting about the opposite of which I haven't been asshole'ish enough to go and post against them ^^ You really are just here to be a jackass. Is it because you're a pushover when service is concerned? I don't mean to pry, but some people cower in the fetal position about work and then beat the hell out of their family when they go home... This... isn't, you know... one of those situations, is it? I mean. You're clearly angry at these people because any post I see is you saying "OMG! You are so smart! I can't believe that no one else has thought of this. Man. You must be the top of your class!
Why do you think SE would see your post and go "oh, man, great idea" and not the other 2342839742342 posts that are out there?" and so on. Pretty asshole'ish, wouldn't you say?
P.S. I've done you a favor by writing in blue. I hope it's helped you to read ^^ It's not crayon and has no diagrams but it's the best I can do for now. I'd appreciate pink if you'd like to continue if possible. (Fifth button over from the left ^.~)
making angry posts and engaging in condescension competitions will not change the fact theres is around 15% more population than the servers can handle combined.
in order for them to fulfill the terms of service they will add more servers and adjust capacity when they get it done.
not when they reach a pre determined quota of 'angry posts in forums'
They got to do something about those AFK already in the game that could care less about others. Yet sorry but your clueless here its not just take out 1017 and put cue in. Theres more problems then just that. These guys are not like most Americans where crying and waaaaa gets you what you want. Lol they are going to do it their way period and saying "I will just quit" well get you..sorry bye.
From what I can tell they are trying to get the cue working better.

A queue system of some sort would be nice until the expanded data centers are in place, but unless the queue system is already developed AND tested, then putting it in may cause more trouble!! That being said, develop it now, in case we still need it after the upgrade. This is opening week for the game, and a holiday weekend at that, so I expected problems, but am still disappointed with SE.
I am glad it is popular, and I love the game, but I would love it more if I could play it :)

it is better for me to see i have to wait for 3-5 hours rather than keep trying without any hope to see the game at all

I don't really understand the reasoning behind NOT having a queue system. Is it more advantageous to have what they have now when you take into account player satisfaction and retention?
I never played 1.0 after trying the absolutely horrendous beta and knowing that the game was just broken and unplayable. Regardless of that, I tracked the progress of the game and got the impression that they were committed to making this right for the players and shareholders with the eventual rebuild and relaunch of ARR. What I've been witness to is just shocking because it appears as if they were utterly unprepared or just don't care, AGAIN. Lack of customer support, poor execution from a logistical standpoint, critical bugs (I know all MMO's have that but ones that make you crash repeatedly or cause you to be billed incorrectly are serious enough), and more. I'm just surprised more than anything but I've been at enough MMO launches to know this will all be taken care of in the near future... it's just a shock to me that they didn't do more considering no other big-name MMO before had to "resell" itself like this.
This petition represents a very small first step that will really have an amazing effect on player satisfaction. Please Square/FFXIV team, implement the queue so we can have the most effective, fair, and efficient means of getting into the game. We're all fine waiting our turn, we're not fine with being part of the illogical and frantic stampede system you have currently.

Please note that all US consumers should write a complaint letter similar to the one in http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...22#post1139422 and follow through with an official complaint.
It has come to my attention that you guys have not considered why THE que they have now is not working. Keep in mind currently they are manually adjusting the server limits, don't you think for a moment if the que that we do have thought you were supposed to be 400 in line or w/e that as soon as they changed the limits like they have been doing constantly that you might end up with a world that is now full?
(oh wait does that explain why people get in que's and then it says server now full and kicks them out???)

If I could propose a change to your metaphor, instead of a car without an engine, make it a bicycle. No one is saying you can't ride your bicycle whenever you want, you just can't ride it with friends. The bike paths you and your friends take to meet up and ride together are all closed. You can still ride, just not together with anyone you know. Of course you can try new paths and make new friends, maybe even some of your old friends will happen to find one of the different paths. If you bought a bicycle to ride with friends, it defeats the purpose if you can't ride with them.
Is that any better? maybe not, I'm trying to write coherently at 2am.
Playing on a different server is fine. It would give me a chance to try different starting worlds, classes etc. But when all my friends (the few I have) are waiting for me to log on so we can do dungeons and other Duties, not being able to log in is a serious pain. Or when I get disconnected while dungeoning and now can get back in...that's even worse. I wish we could always play at non-peak times, but we works different jobs with different schedules. Surprise, surprise, most of the time we have off together is the same as the majority of other people.
I'm fine with believing that the current queue system would cause the servers to crash if completely re-enabled. Really, I am. That just means you don't re-enable it. You fix it/rebuild it. Plenty of games have a queue that works and doesn't crash the game servers. There must be a way to correctly implement them. What ever that way is, do that. I don't think anyone would want them to just "reopen the flood gates" to a bad queue, they'd want it fixed first.
Maybe it's just my pessimism, but the post from Yoshida didn't exactly make me feel better. Unless server transfers are created (which wasn't mentioned, unless I missed it) the addition of new worlds will only allow them to reopen digital download and get more people into the game, but won't do anything for people already in a world. Yes you could reroll, but then so would all of your friends. If I understand it, that also means you lose any legacy character--I don't know if you got any levels, skills etc with them, if it was essentially a direct port of your 1.0 character that would really be a pain.
I realize this is kinda a long rant. It's after 2am. I'll head to bed and try getting in later today or Monday. I'll stick it out for a while...just not sure how long yet.

When I suggested a server queue, it worked wonderful until they added this Error 1017. Now its just been a huge amount of problems. Error 1017 was the worst solution, they need to put that global queue system in!
