I actually see this problem with many highly positive people. If a comment or whatnot isn't what they would consider positive, it's not positive at all. Some people even get called negative because these people only see in black and white.

For all we know Yoshi has already signed off on the beta and this week is a huge "GET OUT AND DO SOME PR" about the beta starting. Since they can't release any of the info til all at once we have to wait til they visit London and the rest.
Here, let me give an example. Elexia stated that based on his/her experience to "not be surprised" if it gets delayed. There was no highly positive "it's coming soon! or highly negative "nope, delayed for sure" in that. Far too many see it as black and white, when there is a rather large gray area in between.
Yeah or they just brought a bunch of PCs for no reason *eyeroll*

I can just hear Rukirri singing "Aaaaaaah" *angelic chorus*
I don't think anyone here has a Fan Club, outside of Foxclon and Rukkirri. Oh and a few virtual people.
But the main thing I'm trying to point out is something like this. I've seen people be all positive about something that's going to happen, and they get upset and call people being realistic or telling the to be realistic about it, negative. But when things don't turn out the way they expected they get all depressed.
Now, will all people react that way when things go downhill from their positive outlook? No, but many do.
This. You have to be realistic about the situation, because ARR is being released in a time where everyone and their mother is releasing an MMO and the market is over saturated. Since you know the first people to complain are the ones who brushed aside any worries or only kept being positive 100% about everything. The Alpha was delayed, the beta was delayed in the first place and will likely get pushed back into March, which works out better for them in the long run. The only negativity in that is people who are excited to play will have to wait longer.
There's nothing wrong with delays, just seems like it's getting pushed back a bit later, especially since they're announcing the date in a letter and the live letter has the subjects on the beta test and launch which means unless they plan to do the live letter during beta testing, it could always start after/week or two after. Yoshida is one of the most careful developers in regards to stuff like this which is why you should expect delays since remember: It's just testing, it's not an early preview or demo, they want to make sure everything is set which is why Alpha got delayed, he was concerned about the quality even though quality in Alphas isn't exactly the purpose lol.
They're trying to drive up the hype and finally get information out about ARR, especially if the rumored release of summer (especially based on roadmap) is true, it's about time they started their PR campaign.
Yeah, it's pretty sad how the mob mentality is on these forums sadly.
I'm POSITIVE that I absolutely <3 what I'm seeing in these pics! What a GREAT JOB in the displays I have seen thus far! That pic of the window looking out at Gridania, is absolutely stunning!! How cool is that, what a great idea. I hope they film this media campaign show so we can see it! I'm really getting excited!!! WOOT!! can't wait for Beta!
This is starting to look like the big LAN party.... omg if we get to play with all of them I'm going to faint.
*sigh* My ignore list just keeps gettin' longer...
When does this start? Is it tomorrow?

Do I need to edit this? :O
I always "announce" when someone goes on. They know who they are. :)
The tweets have stopped. They're probably in a meeting... :( Baah. I guess we have to wait until tomorrow for more tidbits.
I think 85% of my body is sheer happy right now. 15% is cold... *goes to get a blanket* >.>
Yeah, looks like it's already been pushed back since we haven't got our e-mails yet, but I think it might start before the live letter. What they did with the alpha was showcase the client as it was being tested. However, that doesn't mean it has to be the case with the beta and I agree with ya in that no one should be surprised by delays.
What is surprising is for people to be surprised by delays, really.
