Years ago when I started playing xi for the 3rd time, I was lazy. After mashing the auto generate a ton of times excildor popped up. After playing for 6ish years on and off(back on again lol), I realized I was tired of staring at a dude's back side.
And so "Excildors Wench" was born.
Chronic is my characters name, need I say why? lol TooHighToDie was my linkshell name in FFXI. So for the 2 name format in XIV I became Chronic Toohigh. lol
The Story behind Momo Ochita? doesn't exist :p
I just wonder.. and after 20 minutes my mind blow with Momo (for the name i get inspired from the trademark Momo Design)... and after other 20 minutes.. again my mind blow Ochita (this randomly)..
After months I discovered that "Momo Ochita" in Japanese means: Fallen Peach... So now I love this name <3 never change!
I Really love what I've created and even a soundable name is either a visible wonderful name o/
So while Demons have many histories from around the world and i'm from the west my definition should keep my roots. So based on ancient and medieval Christian demonology, a demon "Me" is considered an unclean spirit, more specifically an "evil angel" (Mom used to call me this and still does), which may cause demonic possession, calling for an exorcism(tried and failed). A demon is a spiritual entity that may be conjured and controlled.
With that in mind... White (Wht for most games) Demon is my benevolent possession of my avatar. The extension of me that is fearless in battle because i will never perish, only be reborn in anew avatar.
I was not terribly original and I admit it. Mine comes from this FF-lady right here: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Reis_Duelar
However! I did name her retainers, Path Companion, and even the chocobo from others in Final Fantasy Tactics. Teitra and Dycedarg for the retainers, Beowulf for her companion (it just fit!), and then a randomly generated name for one of the chocobos in the game.
/geek forever
Surprisingly enough... got my name from that lovely "Generate Name" option during character creation in FFXI.
OMG LOL i written "u can touch it" LOL
I mean "u can't touch it" LOL
ahaha °_°
Allow me to touch your...

Whoa! Nevermind...
Leo Vanhalen. My character name is original, my first name is inspired by someone i met in real life called leo. I always thought the name was cool. My last name means "son of halen" i think. Just wanted to give it a clan feel. I'm hoping to start a free company in 2.0 named "Vanhalen Clan" in Gugnir. :)
My chocobo's name is Valefor, the bird like aeon of the Final fantasy series nd the first aeon you'll get in Final fantasy X, the best game ever created. :)
Decide to share a bit more:
My Chocobo's name is Sidedish. I had wanted to name my chocobo that since XI, since I liked to refer to it as my emergency food supply. (damn preset names)
My retainers are Moonkat and Steampunk. Moonkat for being.... well, a keeper of the moon, and Steampunk for wearing goggles as her default gear.
My forum name I've been using since Mechwarrior 4, and basically describes my favored combat style in that game. It's also my Forum name in MW:O, and DeviantArt. The 319 is just my DoB in shorthand.
Oh right, almost forgot about my Chocobo!
Its name is Pinzy, because he can move everywhere without problems and is very solid.
...Yeah, you might wonder how can Pinzy inspire mobility and security, right? That's because Pinzy comes from Pinzgauer, a family of 4WD Military cars, and proudly one of the most recognized vehicles from the Swiss Army Vehicles. It was a hard choice between Mowy from Mowag and Pinzy, but it just sounded too good~

Chris Davis, that's me in real life. I love adventure in real life so it's just me in a Fantasy adventure. But Christopher is Christ like and Davis is sub for David which means beloved. So when I interact with others I'm not role playing it's the real me. I think I'm beloved by all the Titans linkshell and whom I meet.
My chocobo is Maximus, I like Russel Crow Version of him in the Gladiator. An honorable stead he is. Now I'm role playing.
Keisuna is the amalgamation of "Kate" (my pseudonym at the time) and "esuna" (she was going to be a white mage at the time), written in the style of Romanized Japanese.
Kate Esuna
Kay Suna

:3
lol oh yeah I got my nickname from my ls XD I told them about how easy it was to forget me so I was nicknamed Forgotten Forgo which is a nice play on the name =)
My son's name
I came up with Gagusho a long time ago when I was a kid, not sure if I got it from somewhere or just came to me. For last name I picked out Tsukiyo (moonlit night) because I love love the moon. Would of love to use Zangetsu which is the title of my favorite classic Japanese song, but didn't because people would think I am a bleach fan. :(
For my chocobo I named him Tanpopo which was the name of the little bird from xxxholic kei.
When I was 10 or so years old I was given this cute little pewter dragon figurine, a baby dragon with the most inviting smile ;)
After looking deep into it's eyes the name Fazrenar came to mind. I have used this handle online for years now.
When XIV came along a change was needed because in-game I wanted the same surname as my partner, so diminutive "Faz" was coined.
As for our surname "Talan", we can't quite remember how that was formed, but to us, it sounds slightly dangerous ;)
For our linkshell we choose the name GONDWANA. This was a name for the super-continental mass of earth... way back when. It felt right because all the lands of the world were connected together in Gondwana. As Australians, Gondwana has local cultural meme's, and Australia is sometimes referred to as Gondwanaland, in song and story.
Faris means horseman in arabic, and Ain means star.
I like arabic names. They're ultra pretty.
My name "Vale" derives from the place where my Highlander father and Lowlander mother snuck away (against the rites and rituals of the clans) and conceived me...I didn't like to know about that either. That was a weird conversation for me.

Enough said.
Forum name: I drive an STi and its lol.
Game name: Because Stanklemuff McJiggletits may have been frowned upon.
I was googling names back in EQ days and liked Eliseus. My bro use to make all his chars surnames in EQ Kayne, and I figured I would do that with him since I was his brother. Since then I have always had the name Eliseus in every MMORPG I play (very rarely is there one I don't get it in). If there is ever a sir-name or anything I do Kayne.
Siali Liatho: Siali is elvish (D&D) for shadow cat and she's a Moon Keeper so it fits. Liatho I got from a book I was reading where the main heroine's name was Liathano and she was a powerful sorcerer, I only want to level magic classes so there. :)
But I may change to a new name based on my own real life one, Cin Lyhn. But not sure.
I'm my favorite froufrou coffee drink. :>
Lilithali Zenevieva~
Lilith - Adam's first wife, who was created at the same time and from the same earth as Adam. This contrasts with Eve, who was created from one of Adam's ribs. Lilith left Adam after she refused to become subservient to him and then would not return to the Garden of Eden after she mated with archangel Samael.
Ali - Elvish suffix for shadow
Zenevieva- In Celtic the meaning of the name Zenevieva is: The Pale One.

Not as racist as people make me out to be.
Yolteotl Oni
I'm a huge fan of RahXephon where Ayato Kamina is the characterization of Yolteotl for all of humanity. Yolteotl comes from the Nahutal Indian religous state of enlightenment of "Divine Heart", one of two stages that each person should try to attain along with Ixtli "Divine Body".
I was Yolteotl, a Tarutaru Male, in FFXI and as if a progressive state of reincarnation became Yolteotl Oni, a Duskwight Elezen Female, "The Demon of God's Heart" in FFXIV 1.0. If name changes are allowed for A Realm Reborn (can't remember), then as if another stage of progressive reincarnation, I plan on changing the Oni as Female Roegadyn, but unsure what just yet.
Cale Imrik
While I was installing FFXI all those years ago, I sat there looking over the screenshots on the back of the box (was FFXI+ROZ+COP), and thought Dragoon was awesome, I also liked the look of Elvaan. Being a Warhammer nerd I instantly associated Elvaan + Dragoon to High Elves and Dragon Princes of Caledor, and "Caledor" was born..Usually shortened by people to Cale.
I wanted to to make my FFXIV char an evolution of Caledor, so stuck with the shortened name "Cale", and added "Imrik" as a surname. Imrik is the ruling Dragon Prince and last descendant of the original Dragontamer.
With 2.0 I'm looking to start fresh so will create a Highlander Female, probably on one of the new servers, just so I'm not behind everyone else ;p.
I've settled on a first name, "Virae", taken from David Gemmell's "Legend", one of the few female characters in novels I find genuinely likeable.
Surname is what I'm stuck on..going back and forth between
Kiran - One of the few positives of the newest Teen Titans run.
Renya - Another female character from a David Gemmell novel.
Reiya - Random name for my D2 Sorc, also used as Legacy name in SWTOR. Didn't notice they were 1 letter apart until I wrote them just now lol..
mmm mine I've been using the nickname Rannie since I was 17 and using a chat program called The Palace. Went on there as Ran-chan then my now ex boyfriend started calling me Rannie for endearment and I have been Rannie since I even own the domain ranniechan.net through my website provider. I even answer to it at work and thinking about using it for my religion. L'fey well that's kinda like Morgan Le Fae or La Fey just put my own flare on it and used it with other things. *shrugs*
Linkurrra Moonpuma - Black Cat Miqo'te
I have always been big on Legend of Zelda. So I choose Link, well that was obviously taken as I'm not the only fan So I came up with Linkas for my Male Elvaan. Over the years I made an Alt Mithra Linkurrra. the triple RRR pays homage to Mithra speak in XI.
In XIV, I carried the name over, however now I had the option for a last name. I liked the Black Panther with Green eyes look and I was Keeper of the Moon. So I chose the last name Moonpuma.
That's my story to my name :D
Uhm well... x///D
Coris: Can't remember where I got it from, but I already used this name in another game in 2008 (Had to find out for anniversary gifts, that's why I know ^^). Saying it in an english manner may somehow sound like 'Corey' (at least it did the last time someone with English as his first language said it xD). I think 'Koh-riss' would be a good example.
Teijan: Name of a shapeshifter from a book. Thought it looks and sounds cool o.o
Having created the name Kaminto in the year 2000 for an original character i created, I first used it in Final Fantasy XI, then events occurred and the K.A.M. Triplets were born, 3-boxing on FFXI was easy due to the way the battles panned out but it's become a bit difficult in this modern age of mmo's, nevertheless they are around on FFXIV, with slight variations to their first name they do draw suspicion but people have gotten used to them, the last name Komouri is japanese for bat (mammal) since my original character is an anthromorphic bat, all in all the names are not based off any lore or history, i just found them cute and unique and they roll off the tongue quite nicely to boot...
