-The Circle of Knowing members seem to have NOT teleported as they have new equipment/clothing changes. This would infer that Cid/GC leaders did not teleport as well...
-My take on the eye mark of the CoK members is it has to do with the devices. The aether distortion detector theory makes sense, so perhaps the mark indicates they're watching the aether as "guardians?" (it is an eye after all)
-Whatever the mark is, I'm inclined to believe it is not the legacy mark for players based on the assumption it has to do with the devices/storyline. It could be, but I would think the CG Midlander and his party would have whatever mark legacy gets...
-Saw an interesting close-up of the Crystal Tower with some gold/copperish things attached to it...

-It seems like SE changed the 3 emotes in one face at 7:35 based on our reactions lol (altho they could always just say the initial trailer had unfinished cg prone to changes)
-The CG Midlander's Chocobo is definitely a Legacy Chocobo from the armor and mark on it's beak. The other members appear to be riding rental chocobos. Pics below for convenience to compare the cg to artwork:

wouldn't it be awesome the first in-game CS shows us appear in that forest too after the adventure party and legacy chocobo is there waiting for us and we chase the adventurers to that mountain thing in the distance? xD!

a side note... seems like SE couldn't get a hold of the old voice overs guys that did 1.0 ...and that's why this new intro is "muted"

Yeah, that rousing choir at the end is awesome (it sounds to me like the singers are all shouting "EORZEA!! EORZEA, EOR...ZZEA!!!" to the point it almost sounds like a national anthem ;)) - although I'm still a hardcore Uematsu fan saddened by his original FFXIV OST being largely discarded, what I've heard of Soken's new OST though I am very, very impressed with, and that trailer theme is no different. :D

I think its Eorzea, Terra Nova Fantasia, which roughly means new world fantasy.

Well considering that what you just saw will be the movie running when you click "opening cinematic" when you log in... I think it's fitting.. Love it or hate that's what it is... I personally think that SE did a great job with what the opening implies... New player's will have a clean slate, in no way bound to 1.0 and the tragedy... yet there is still room for the old adventurers who survived the 1.0 and have entered this new point in time... Look past the obvious...

Just think when people click "Opening cinematic" in 5 years to come, we can all say "duuuuudddddeeeee I was there, if Lou hadn't teleported us out I would have totally taken Bahamut I was charging him then poof I end up in a forest wondering WTF!!!"

*ahem* Anyway, I think the midlander party teleports into the Black Shroud then rides north into Coerthas. I say this after looking at the artwork pdf map released with the original roadmap.

Here it is on ffxivmaps.com (move the sliders all the way to the left to clearly see the new maps).

I think they landed at the second to top of the right column in the second to last map (North Forest) where it says "Ruin Dungeon Entrance." They then went north to the last map (Coerthas Central Highlands) in the bottom-middle picture where it says "Zone to Forest." That pic seems to be the view the party had when they exited the forest and the geography matches.

Related notes:
-These maps may be dated/changed and is missing large chunks (entire zones are missing). That said I think my above argument still fits.
-The snowy region with Behemoth is only a small portion of Coerthas, a previously inaccessible mountain area in the past. Most of Coerthas is still a forest/mountain type region with varying degrees of snow.
-The giant yellow thing the party rides off to in the end appears to be the "Summit" in the middle of the Coerthas map.
-It would make sense to teleport back into Mor Dhona since we were there last, but it was never stated we would. So it still makes perfect sense to be teleported elsewhere and the geography of these maps seem to fit.

I looked closer at the map and it shows that the summit looks like snow capped mountains...I think the summit is different from the yellow structure...but your map info is great!

Yes, I agree I think the word "summit" is referring to the snow capped mountain (there are two) but to the right of them is a horizontal yellow thing. I think that's what it is.

seeing how they have new cloth and look older the other look like time did not change for them like it all happen within 1sec. So it seem only the hero was send the rest got save by whatever happen with Louisx guy and bahamut that there not telling us. Seeing how the heros are us that mean we the only ones he saved everyone else was left there and was saved by something else that we have not yet been told.

The only thing is the people you saw in the vid were all at the rune locations praying when Bahamut attacked. we have not seen Cid, E-Suma(?) or louisox who were all at ground zero.

They're alive don't worry, Cid was off on a mountain separate from Louisoix just like the 3 GC leaders were off on their own. Technically they weren't in the blast radius. Also Kan-E-Senna is a powerful mage, she could probably pop up a barrier of her own if need be.

I can't speak for Cid, but I'm willing to bet that all of the Grand Company leaders are safe.

I cant say i really like the "opener". i think the way it played out made everything seem pointless. Since no one seems to have died (including the group's chocobo) and apparently bahamuts blasts missed pretty much everything, i cant see how it explain the new map through planetary devastation like they said. and since everyone seems to have survived (and possibly/likely the old man), being sent 5 years into the future seems oddly pointless since apparently bahamut attacked once and then went to sleep or something.

I also think the "no one remembers anything" is silly. I thought that civilization struggling to cope would be great story for a post-non-apocalyptic world.

Yoshi-P said all the answers are waiting for us in the hardest dungeons ..so i'm betting high end CGI CSs will be waiting for us :D
