Must of delivered to the wrong subligar man or something...
or reinh if any should get in should be you after your many translations
guess you didn;t get that job as a translator?
not gettign in on alpha not a bid deal now if i don't get in on beta i am going to rage like its the end of the world
If I get in would be nice but not in a rush or anything myself so it's OK, got lots of offline games I had sitting in the house I need to catch up on lol... but if I do get in... forget those games... back to Eorzea :p
Ah.....knowing my dumb luck, I wont get into the alpha of this version neither.
Hoping they turn the tables for the applications for the beta test, that way they would have received feedback from a variety of different situations.
However, I think they should focus more on the PC people are signing up with. I do believe they should be aiming at lower-end PCs to see how the game fairs.
Some people clearly didn't read about the NDA, quick give their spot to someone else!
Sorry to those of you that were not selected in the current round of Alpha Tester selection. Unfortunately, we need to control the number of users participating, so not everyone is guaranteed a spot. However, please note that this is not the final selection for Alpha Testers and we are proceeding to make adjustments so that we can continue to add testers.
While we can't offer firm timing, or other specifics, at this time, there will be more chances to be selected. We appreciate your understanding everyone.
Oh well, more PSO2
This is where I would show a video or screenshot of Snurbbles dieing en-masse with the humble request that they reconsiter their slots.
But truth be told I've not applied for Alpha Testing, life has unexpectedly demanded a great deal of my attention right now. I'll save that bit for later down the line as we get closer to Beta.
I am not whining. I am not raging. I am just super sad.

So they already sent out the emails eh? >_<
Well, no one was "guaranteed" a spot in the first place. So everyone should have kept their "expectations" low and if you happened to get an invite then you can do kart wheels around the house :P. Alpha Versions, there's not that many positions available, so it's more or less like trying to win a lottery! XD
i never rage or expect in getting it and each time i get alpha or beta invite from game even game i didnt subscribe for beta : Apb(didnt) , WOW(didnt and deleted email) , battlefield 3(didnt gave to my classmate he sub. with 5 account didnt get it lol) , Secret world(did) , diablo3(did) etc...
Just wondering, if they need to control the numbers of users participating, will those currently in the alpha be locked out in a few weeks, and a new wave allowed in?
Well, if everyone was allowed to participate right from the get-go in a "Alpha Version". There would be soo many crashes, Yoshi-P with be smoking 10 packs a day instead of 1 and drink 50 cups of coffee a day instead of 15! XD. Alpha needs to be handled with care. Believe me I want to play as well, but I want them to do it right at the same time. Letting everyone in an test/playing "Alpha" is a Doomcake ready to explode!
People raging or whining about this are fucking insane.
Its like getting mad that you didn't win a contest.
Also, who cares if you don't get selected for a two weeks aging test? Geez, only two races are available even. Alphas suck balls. I was in 1.0's and I wanted to shoot myself in the face.
A suggestion: Keeping out those that don't have an active account (as was stated rather clearly on the application form) in favor of those that have an active one would be a wonderfully efficient way to control the number of users participating, or at least a very effective first step of selection (not to mention a perfect way to avoid a bloody bad PR blunder).
Just thought I'd put it out there, in the case what we're hearing on the issue is indeed true, for future use :D
How about confirming that officially, rather than believing some random troll on the internet?
No. According to the interviews, they want to keep the login ratio at around 60% (of all accepted participants). Once the ratio drops below that, new wave of invitations should be issued.
That about sums up my experience with SE with every patch, every update. Disappointment is the theme of this ordeal. :O
I'll get over not being in alpha, but just saying, we were the ones who put 14.99 a month into your borderline broken game, not the people who quit in 2010.
i'm confused, how do ppl know that non-active accounts are getting invites? Even though the MODs and the alpha entry page states only active accounts are allowed?
When an allegation is untrue and you stand on solid ground, all you have to do is to post an official statement saying that it's untrue, effectively placing the burden of proof on the accuser. Going around deleting whole threads definitely doesn't give the right signal on that kind of issue.
On the contrary, it hoists exactly the wrong set of signal flags.
I'm rather neutral in this subject, as I don't blindly believe that SE invited people that didn't have active accounts (I consider it possible, but that's rather far from surety). Seeing the thread about it swept under the rug does SE no favors, and puts me a step closer to believing the allegation.
How is..
Saying anything about Non-actives getting in?Quote:
- Must currently have an active FINAL FANTASY XIV account

*Confused!*
Everyone shooting the messenger poor kitty.
There are posts on the fansite forums from people who said they've gotten in without an active account. There were also posts on these forums from people who said they applied without having any active characters at the time (thus not having an active account).
It was speculated that the wording on the application site didn't in fact mean that people had to be playing at the time to be qualified to apply or receive an invite but rather that they had to have an XIV account registered on their SE account (which means that they at least have played the game in the past).
Edit: Personally I don't really think current XIV players would be somehow better qualified to (stress) test ARR and I'm sure anyone who went through the trouble of filling the test application can't be completely unmotivated to do the testing.
I'm sure not shooting. Even if the allegations were true, I seriously doubt our community reps had any part in the blunder (while they can relay the feedback to those that did). Just giving a friendly reminder.
Again, all they have to do is to deny such wild theories officially. I'll definitely believe whatever they say unless I'm shown conclusive evidence of the contrary.
But deleting the thread that includes the complaint gives me all kinds of bad singnals. I would also mention that by taking it upon yourself to take a confrontational stance with those that are dissatisfied in the presence of a potentially serious PR blunder, you do SE no favors.
That's why a moderator has the "lock" button, which is what has been used in previous, equivalent cases. Mind you, that thread was no duplicate, as it asked about a very specific issue, that wasn't included in the others, that are generic complaints about not being invited.Quote:
As for deleting threads, ever though about them simply removing the duplicates, since there is already a thread about the same topic?
Again, the "climbing mirrors" metaphor comes to mind.
Ruk... just answer one question for me plz...
In ARR is the gra.....
I mean hows the lag so far?
