Guess that means that it's Stormblood's fault that SHB has barely any content, truly the worst expansion. Hope you keep enjoying SHB.

You know you are reaching if you are boasting about Eureka over Bozja (especially when Pagos exists), and the fact Bozja is an improvement in every fashion.
Overall SHb has more content, despite COVID taking out Ultimate until 6.1.
We got two new raid dungeons in the latter half of this expansion, can even say four if you want to count DR and DR Savage.
People saying shb have more content than stormblood are on high copium. Like wtf shb have no content
For people saying. "I forgot about the cover charges" You all understand that when you buy a expansion you get a ton of content that comes with the price. Are you trying to say these content updates should be cover by the expansion cost as well? You out of your mind. You pay for a ton of content when an expansion hits. Any extra content is cover by monthly fee and cash shop.
Without the cash shop, we would not have as much content, and or the price of monthly fee would go up. So accept it and move on. At least it is optional.
I though it was common knowledge that FFXIV not only easily pays for itself but also financially props up other SE projects. If you think you need to buy things off the cash shop to keep the game alive... well "a fool and his money..." and all that.
I'm going by what the head guy saying. I will take his word over it. Over the player base. Thanks.
LMAOOOOOOOOOOO oh man people like you really think that? Oh boy. I know this game lets you escape from reality, but man some of you take it to the next level.
This. This. This.
I don't have much to add, but I came here just to voice my opinion just as I have been all over Reddit and Twitter. I am no stranger to the mogstation, assorted cosmetic costumes that have nothing to do with the game, or costumes from other FF games I'm okay with because they are just that: optional cosmetics. But when you take something like Cruise Chaser and make it a mount, it's a slap to the face to all of your loyal playerbase. This really hurts the integrity of the game. It didn't even have to be a hardcore mount like Cerberus or Demi-Ozma, I don't understand where this false dichotomy of "it's better than Feast," it could have literally come from a low effort Moogle Tomestone event and it would've been better than this.
As cool as this mount is, and as much as I love CC and his theme, I cannot in good conscious support this direction for my favorite game. Besides, now all I can think of when I hear "Forward and Back" is the direction someone swipes their credit card. For shame SE, not even Blizzard would overstep this hard and put one of their most beloved bosses on the cash shop. For shame.
Funny how Viera have been waiting for two years for the devs to free up the resources to give us a single new hairstyle for this half completed race, yet they somehow found the resources for this very complex two seater mount with a model swap, awesome animations, and the best soundtrack in the game. I guess you could argue, all of these assets for the mount already existed and just needed to be applied to a character model, but the same could be said about the dozens of hairstyles already in-game, some of which we have spent real money purchasing that we cannot use on Viera to this day.
How many mounts do apologists think we should have to buy before SE gives Yoshi P the proper budget he needs to get these basic features added? This is beyond greedy and gross.
Honestly starting to want to buy the thing just to offset someone who isn't. Yes, I'm that petty.
I will not pay to hear forward and back any longer.. NOOO nope not happening .... lol NIGHTMARES
People defending the Cruise Chaser in the shop, because the money go for the dev team, yet, i havent seen an effort for the Latin/Spanish players, like at least, translate the game for us, but nothing.
The price for me in colombia, is almost the same price, i pay for Tales of Arise, and for one mount, that could be obtained in game.
Its Sad.
I stopped getting worked up and arguing over store mounts after the Chocobo Carriage, but all the people saying you didn't mind store mounts before or supported it and even cheered it on until now... What did you expect? What did you think was going to happen? That they'd never put something you think is special or something you really wanted on there?
If anything that's exactly the reason Cruise Chaser is on there, because even in this thread some of the angry people are grudgingly admitting they'll still buy it because they want it so much. It doesn't even matter anymore if you yourself think this is over the line or if you buy it or not because even if you don't other people will.
Its not like a mount from a Candy bar, its not like a mount from a twitch event. The reason why its on the mog station is because a Mount like Cruise Chaser would most likely come from higher end content, Savage to Ultimate lvl content.
But this is what we have to deal with given that FF has also destroyed the initial concept older MMOs had. You can't have everything, or as the community likes to call it, "GateKeeping". IF people wanted this to be earned then you'd have to hear literally everyone who "Can't"/ Won't/Not good enough to do savage/Ultimate lvl content complain about it not being an easy mount. If it was put into the Gold Saucer then you'd hear people ask why its not part of a raid or higher end content given how much of a hard fight Cruise Chaser WAS in its hay day.
Long story short, kill two birds with one stone, buy it if you want it, ignore it if you don't.
It's not like they haven't been investing in the game regardless; It's not as if they just ran away with the money they make off subs and the mogstation or whatever. Yeah, content was a bit sparse in comparison, even prior to Covid, but now, towards the end of ShB, it's pretty clear they have been putting more into the game - such as that new datacenter (which costs money). I only question their priorities in terms of types of content, but they do seem to be trying to provide as much as they can considering, even with manpower issues.
It looks like SE has succeeded to some degree in XIV's case, at least insofar as certain vocal social media outlets are concerned. It's such a backwards mentality. I am all for free enterprise, and that sort of nonsense has no place in it and is something consumers ought to find creepy and repulsive.
In all honesty it's better than it being another feast reward. Could it have been achievable in-game? Sure, but it's better than only a tiny percentage of players getting it. Mostly win sellers/buyers anyways.
It is very very very unlikely that the money from the shop mount will go into the game dev team. Bussiness decisions are not made like this. If the shop mount is a success then they will reinvest the money to make a better Mogrystation and design more shop mounts. Because it is a far easier money.
Cheers
I am grateful to be able to purchase it at Mog Station.
If it was a reward for winning 1000 times in the new PvP starting with Endwalker, I would not have been able to get it for years.
On a more serious note, FF14 has been selling mounts on the Mog Station for a long time now, and I've never felt overly encouraged to pay for them, and I've never seen the game fall apart because of it. Rather, as you all know, the player base continues to grow and FFXIV continues to improve.
Please keep in mind that there are opinions like this one.
I've seen some extreme knee-jerk reactions on these forums over the years. This is almost at the top of the list. Holy cow, people. You guys are putting the Sleipnir controversy of ARR to shame.
As it should.
It was exactly the same in fact.
When something that clearly should be IN GAME content is put into a cash shop is always bad.
I wouldn't mind variant colors of these mounts being in the cash shop. But iconic mounts should be - at least in their original version/color - completely in game content.
I Pay a subscription to play IN GAME and be rewarded IN GAME.
It is unethical when they do this, so yeah, the outrage is completely legitimate.
I'm going to go purchase one right now. :)
Also, buying a thing is not in any way equivalent to wishing poverty on a person because they can afford to make a private decision that you - being the unimportant rube that you most certainly are - have absolutely zero say in.
Who says it should be in the game? I'm trying to figure this out here. Do you own this business? Did you make it? What right besides being a consumer do you have? Some of you need to learn your place on this. Saying that it should be in the game, takes a level of ego that I can't even picture.
You even as far as said CLEARLY? And unethical. A business trying to make money off its work? The only reason why you are going that far is because they already made tons of money, you are not getting your way...and you can't quit cause of addiction. I understand, but this level of thinking is so self center. To say that a company should not sell something it made.
Do you really think your sub fee is enough? LOL as I said before the people who buy this stuff. Help keep our sub fee low, and I <3 these people.
Talking about ego, the self rightgeous CONSUMER
Also, that last part is completely a lie.
The subscription doesn't adjust not because the cash shop exists, it doesn't adjust because people would drop the game en masse. They are as much of an addict to us as us to them. So when they do these Unethical practices it's very clearly an insult towards the playerbase.
And I wonder how they offset the cost of not adjusting the sub price with rising inflation so that way they can still make more profit for the CEO/shareholder reports while not having people quit on masse...oh wait.
Make no mistake; mogstation is 90% the reason you enjoy a non-rising sub cost since 2013.
then... who is going to decide which mounts are iconic? and they stil want to have mounts in the shop.... how many off these additional mounts are iconic enemies made into mounts and how many of them are uniconic to go into the shop? when is it decided? i mean... two years after the iconic whatever appeared? but then... its mount appearing may not make sense, so they would need to make even more efforts for the logic aspect.
should all player get it by moogle mail? or would you be happier if you have to do a giant grind like the awesome pterodactyl for crafting and gathering? so much grind most people never ever would get it because they dont have so much time?
Just stop talking about inflation and the price of the sub , you guys dont know anything about that just move on this thread have 36 page now and its going out of context
I think I'm starting to understand now. It's not about defending a corporation at the expense of your own self-interests.
It's really just about having fun antagonizing people, particularly those who are passionate or upset about something.
Alternatively, some people just have realistic mindsets.
Companies want to make profit. The mogstation team, which is wholly separate from the FF14 dev team mind you, saw an opportunity to make profit with Cruise Chaser. Yoshi-P had many years to have the main dev team implement the mount into the game himself yet chose not to do so; chances are it was never on the agenda for them. It's not antagonizing to give people the straight facts that CC was 99.99999999999999999% likely to never see the light of day if it wasn't for the mogstation team.
You have the numbers?
Because for near a decade i've seen the lack and failures in service of the game - Making me wish the sub would increase.
For years the excuse of the cash shop defenders is that they provide a better service thanks to it - Yet service is the same if not worse as time goes by.
So please, you have any link between the cash shop existence and the actual quality and price of the product being produced and delivered?
That japanese corporates are more moderate than their american counterparts when it comes to show-off their profits (ala bobby kotick).
