Petition for more wards / instanced housing

Well considering I, farmed for quite a while because i really wanted to get a house in Shirogane. Logging in as soon as it was possible, but even then it was too late as every lot was snatched up because other people got in faster than me.
Honestly at this point I would be willing to pay a fee to get access to extra wards, even a monthly one like with retainers if it had to be that way.

I just want my house!

Given that even Free Companies are unable to acquire housing (and are, therefore, locked out of various crafting and content options) due to shortage, consideration for expanding availability should be met with urgency. I recommend creating dedicated servers for housing, especially with cross-world interaction being a hot topic.

There's a lack of long term mid-core content that's accessible. Housing is one of the few robust areas of XIV that's supported and can have small forms of progression through crafting and getting drops from PvE. There is a lot of content here that is gated, or is obtuse to be open and expressive, like housing, glamour, and crafting. The last two being insidious due the fact it takes up massive bag space and if you want to indulge, there's pressure to up your sub fee to have more space.

With a sub fee that you can add on to, full priced xpacs, a cash shop with expansive items that are not all cosmetic. It's not enough to tell me that it's difficult or expensive to change housing. It's a bad system where a small amount of players can own entire wards using alts, blocking FC's and mid-core players from cool content. Systems need to be built to be easily expanded. XIV can't flourish with how sparse content is in terms of what is added and updated, and arbitrary scarcity.

I'm sick of never getting a house because of my slow internet connection!

I would love to see people being able to buy any small plot and then paying to upgrade it to a medium and large over time. If you relinquish the plot you lose all progress. This would help (somewhat) with people who flip plots for profit and would be a Gil Sink which this game technically needs again with people running around with 500mil +.

I would love instanced housing, neighbors are way overrated. Who wants neighbors with their gaudy outdoor furnishing. I would much rather have and Island in the sky to myself. Signed.

I won the "rat race" but could not relocate my FC house due to error messages, tried about 50 times then the server kicked me off. So peeved!

Be happy that you even have an FC house, a vast majority of FC's dont even have a small one to there names.

I think they should have instanced personal housing with a yard. FC housing and Personal housing should be kept seperate. I like many people here put a lot of effort into trying to get a house in shirogane and got screwed over by queues.

What happened today proves that the current housing system is pure garbage.
4 months of effort to get the money to buy a manor for my CL.
All hopes were gone in less than 20 minutes, even for a small plot in shirogane and old sectors.
Was that because I wasn't fast enough ? NO !
It was just because of a god damn "error" message I got over and over and over again.

Fix your housing system SE! The way you handle it right now is just dumb as f..k!

And agreed. Currently this is a system that is completely flawed and needs to be stripped down and built again from scratch. Yes, that'll mean every, single, person who currently has a house, FC or otherwise will lose theirs, I'll infact lose the FC house I have myself in that, but it would be a damn sight better for everyone if a new system, akin to LotrO was implemented.
We pay enough money with Subs and Mogstation purchases, how can SE not have the servers to handle it? It's disgraceful, it's illogical, and it really makes me question if anyone of the server people (I admit, I don't know if they're part of the Dev team or what) are worth keeping on the team.

We should not be made to feel excluded from any content in this game that we don't choose to exclude ourselves from (via neglecting to do the content itself). This housing situation has my wife and I feeling excluded through no fault of our own via login server crashes preventing us from obtaining any housing in any of the housing areas. The rest of the patch has pretty much been ruined for both of us (and we were very much looking forward to the rest of it). Please fix this very serious problem, Square-Enix !

My wife has officially unsubscribed until this problem is resolved, if ever. I will be following suit.

Housing, I remember when it was new and FCs only. Your only semblence of a personal house to yourself was actually your FC room. Back then it wasn't that awful or didn't seem so it was just way pricey. I was on Gilgamesh at the time with my FC.

Fast forward and a couple of server transfers later and you pretty much need to imput Benny Hill music to the scrambling. FCs need a house due to content gated by airships, personal houses do not have that option. I'd be fine if personal houses were instanced or apartments were revamped and upgradable to larger to be like a personal house in it's own sense. Sorry if I don't make much sense I've been up since 4 am. But I've said housing has needed to change since the beginning when FCs made "off shoot" versions with a few of their members just to obtain multiple houses.

it's really disapointing when you try to get a house and the game gives you a crappy world data error thing at the loading screen right after a queue...and kept getting that error for another 25more minutes :mad::mad::mad:

Housing should be available for everyone!
I would prefer a instanced housing like Wildstar has (damn that game sucked but its housing system was awesome), i mean afterall there really is no neighbourhood feeling at all...the only people i ever see in our ward are my fc members and 1-2 more people that are around.

It's frankly embarrassing for such a high profile game to continue such a poorly set up system.

This is yet another really stupid stormblood patch launch almost as bad as the expansion launch in just how stupid the devs handle this game that could and should really be much greater than it is... I don't know what to say but this is just really poor game design in that you have like over 600000 players but only 720 kurogane plots per server. Average server size Id say is about 15k. So thats less than 5% of people getting to buy a plot.

AND THATS NOT EVEN COUNTING THE PEOPLE AND FCS THAT BUY MULTIPLE PLOTS FOR THEMSELVES WHICH MAKES EVEN LESS PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE GET TO HAVE A CHANCE AT THIS.

Even as someone who was able to get a house during the rush, I feel the rush is quite unfair to a very large portion of the player base. There has to be better ways to handle in game housing, or systems to keep people honest (like those people who buy multiple houses with alts). I can think of a few ways, and I am sure others can as well. It may require a ton of work and Money by SEs part to make that happen, but if losing out on other potential cool additions to the game means players can access most content, I'd much prefer that to Blitzball.

Was up at 2amPST and had even logged in front of the house and had my money ready only to have an error logging on and 15minutes later everything was taken including those two that opened up in the lavender befa (someone beat me by 3 seconds). Sigh. I’ve been with Square since ARR beta. Now I’m just disappointed and left with a ton of Gil but no house. I’m in cactuar so it’s already full as it is. Come on Square! Give us more small houses!!!! I wouldn’t even mind an instances House!

I also hope that one day SE will put some hpusing feature elsewhere than in crafting jobs, (because there are so stupidly hard and boring now, with expansion of the amount of experience required, and how hard it is to level up and stuff a crafting job).
