Do you know what a joke is?

The thing is, he brought up BLU and BST without being questioned about it. It's not like the guy asked him about Blue Mage and he deflected with a personal opinion of how it should be done to avoid confirmation. The guy said he predicted Shogun as a tank job for 4.0 and then Yoshida brought up BLU and BST, i.e. he used them as deflections to avoid talking about Shogun/samurai or even acknowledging them. That's more telling in my opinion.
I don't know, Yoshi seems to be playing into us picking everything he says apart this year. Him making those jokes about the reddit threads kinda leans towards that. While I agree that him dodging talking about SAM/SHO is a bit telling, I am also wondering a bit, that he might be doing that to mess with us. To make us look over towards SAM to distract us from something else. I can't tell, but Yoshi's playing a pretty mean troll game this year.
Double misdirection? D: I love and hate Yoshi-P, seriously.
I honestly think he's avoiding the subject on SAM/SHO for a reason though, and to me the whole director thing and spiderman samurai is too coincidental. But I won't discredit the BLU theory, although I personally don't think they'll do 2 mages in 1 expansion. Just my input though.
Keep in mind, I'm not saying he is WITHOUT A DOUBT doing double misdirection. I get a feeling he might be. I've stated my opinion of the Sam Raimi theory before, so I won't beat that drum. I just think Yoshi-P and the team are playing into the speculation rather then just observing it for the giggles. We'll see, it could just be SAM with a connection that NO ONE saw coming or he could honestly be presenting something to us and we're not seeing it cause it's right under our nose. Either way...this is pretty fun to watch/discuss.
Yes?
All of this T-shirts have been incredibly blunt so far (example: Scarlet witch), this is the first one where people are really unsure. I just thought I would go with the most obvious (for me): Spider man- spider webs- strings.
If that sounds weird or like I'm taking his joking around too seriously, then remember I'm just having fun speculating.
I don't know. If we go off of what is blunt, I would say the next class is Blue Mage. Spiderman acquired his powers by being bitten by a spider, like Blue Mages get their powers from Monsters. It doesn't seem much more blunt than that. You take the core of the hero and match it to the core of a Final Fantasy class.
Before this fan fest I was all in for Sam being a DPS, but after reading your pot and logic - I'm all in for Sam tank. I love reading your post b/c you seem to make the most logic arguments for Sam being a tank. Perhaps the Spider-Man job is related to a possible new healer job no one knows yet - i m hopping for a dancer with whip b/c I can't think of what other healer job it could be.
I sincerely hope it's a Blue Mage hint!
You also have to look at the shirt he wears in context of what is said when he wears it. I'm pretty sure I read a translation where he said, "I like red, but also blue." All while wearing a Spider-Man shirt. And if you put that together, with the origin story of the superhero in question, BLU is very obvious and blunt. Bit by a spider and gained it's powers.
That being said, RDM is a whole new thing for FFXIV. Who says they can't combine traditional BLU with something borrowed and something new? Maybe it will combine the powers of BST and BLU. Maybe this BLU will trap monsters to learn their powers.
If it's blue mage, I'm afraid it will end up like a SMN version of blue mage in order to fit into the trinity. Many people maybe disappointed in how it turns out.

I think this is an hint to Blue Mage.
Crimson is opposed to Azure.
In French it's even more obvious as it clearly says Red and Blue.
Crimson embers, Red Mage DPS.
Azure lost amidst the squall, Blue Mage Tank.
It could also be both.
The picture has a red mage riding what I suppose to be the 3.5 mount from getting all birds.
Also, it is an eastern poem. And we are going east in 4.0.
So what? Did you think they were going to try and fit the word Samurai into a proverb? Blue is a damn color. Grass is green, doesn't mean Green Mage is being hinted at since 1.0
And you think there is no meaning in this poem ? Didn't you ever read a single sentence they said/wrote in the past ?
It could of course be nothing related to blue mage, but it is obviously teasing something.
Describing the Rising Sun, Samurai confirmed... Stahp. I can make it sound like SAM is confirmed too.
Has absolutely nothing to do with dancing. DANCER CONFIRMED! /eyeroll
Well, I didn't say it confirms it. But I still take it as an hint.
It could mean anything really, as you just said.
It's not just the "azure" thing, but the fact it is directly opposed to red.
Again, it looks more obvious in the French version in my opinion.
Maybe you are right.
Maybe we are both and it has several meanings, as they like to do such things too.
We will never know.
you're the one instigating I meant i was calling the situation how it was not you.... forget it lol
i hardly call it fun when people start getting silly about colours, like i get it, everyone wants blue really badly and will see it in every word that gets printed between here and feb, all i said was i thought enough was enough at that point
Somebody seems salty >.>
But anyway, there is no jump to reasoning going on here. We get a weird passage about crimson, synonymous with the color red, and a rising sun. Then we get a passage about azure, synonymous with the color blue, and a setting sun. All of this followed by a picture of a red Mage with a sun rise in the background... The post is either a giant troll, a legitimate hint towards Blue Mage, or an unintended coincidence.
Red vs Blue seems to be the THEME, not specifically the MNK is a blue mage, or even that the other MNK is a RDM. But, that the theme of Red vs Blue is everywhere at this point. Red vs Blue auras, Yoshi P saying spiderman is red..... but he's also blue, the crimson vs azure poem. Also specifically the word "Azure" was used to describe a lot of stuff with Blue Mage in FFXI, their 2hour ability was called "Azure Lore".
The Japanese uses the Kanji "蒼" or aoi for blue which is the same as azure dragoon/蒼の竜騎士. But the word aoi itself can just mean plain blue, aoi is the adjective form of ao which is just plain blue. They translated it to azure in the game to fit better with the setting.
oh for goodness sake lol
at no point has there been a "theme" of red and blue, and to debunk all of that other trash, the derplander has been officially confirmed by yoshi that hes wearing the new monk AF gear so no, he's not a blue mage, he just has a blue energy aura and no it's not a super mystic secret blue mage confirmed hint, it's literally just to look cool.......
the female monk has red clothes and a red aura and no she isn't a red mage either
yoshis statement was oh yeah the red in my t shirt is because it goes with stormbloods theme of red there was no mention of the blue as usual that's all come out of the wild speculation of the people with confirmation bias over blue mage
so since we're all over analyzing some flavour text about the upcoming patch let's see....
