where do we make the changes at specificly?
Xero and Dervy do we need any more turret numbers for MCH? What else are we looking for?
Oh hey. Unfortunately Dervy got perma banned from the forums. I think he has the DET values sorted out for the turret, but if you feel like doing some crit testing for the turret that might be useful, since I believe he found that SMN pets scale a little different with crit than players do. (or they have a lower base crit, I can't remember)

On another note, I don't know if it's been discussed but Empereal Arrow on Bard is interesting because it's a 15s Recast GCD skill. Which when applying the Skill Speed stat gives you a very good idea of how much 1 point effects the GCD/Recast of skills.
i.e. with +192 SKP I have a 1.46s Recast but Emperial Arrow is 14.65s Recast so you can see a further decimal point.
Decided to actually look into this since it is so fun wasting Gil on different combinations of Skill Speed. (guess it's not a waste if it's for science :p)
But here is what I got using the Empyreal Arrow as a guide for SPD scaling.
354 SPD = 15s
361 = 14.98s + 7
368 = 14.97s + 7
375 = 14.95s + 7
382 = 14.94 + 7
387 = 14.92 + 5 (0.2 Drop)
394 = 14.91 + 7
401 = 14.89 + 7
408 = 14.88 + 7
415 = 14.86 + 7
422 = 14.85 + 5 (0.1 Drop)
Goes in an alternating pattern of 7,7,7,7,5 as well as 0.01, 0.02 as well as if the 5 lands on a spot where it would drop by 0.02 then it will.
Interesting thing about the GCD rounding
386 = 2.49s GCD
387 = 2.48s GCD (14.92/15 = 2.48667s GCD)
So the point at which it rounds down the GCD is pretty high. Possibly as soon as it reaches the next whole number

Another interesting point is that when the cycle repeats itself after 66 SPD, it is a 0.99% decrease in GCD
--------------------------------------------------------------
Examples of how the SPD stat has exponential gains.
(60 Seconds)
2.5s GCD = 24 Attacks
2.25s GCD (10% reduction in GCD) = 26.67 Attacks (11.5% increase in attacks)
2s GCD (20% reduction in GCD) = 30 Attacks (25% increase in attacks)
1.75s GCD (30% reduction in GCD) = 34.29 (42.875 % increase in attacks)
1.5s GCD (40% reduction in GCD) = 40 (66.67% increase in attacks)
So if that first 66 SPD is ~1% damage increase, then by a 2s GCD you are sitting at an average of 53 SPD per 1% WS damage increase.
As far as I know, every point of Skill and Spell Speed reduces your GCD by X, but the UI just truncates the number to two decimals and shows you that. All your skills will still be faster by very tiny amount even if the UI number doesn't update after small gains.
Does anyone happen to know what the # of DET per 1% damage increase is, or whether it is different per job?
Was testing on bard and it takes a whopping 100 DET, and not sure whether it is due to rounding or what but it seemed to require a bit more the higher I got my weapon damage.
Rise from the grave, thread!
So, I know you guys love it when I post damage formula stuff, so I'm back from my absence with more fun!
Hyoton: 607-670 Damage
Mug: 610-674 Damage
No venoms and with the same stats, obviously. And they're both supposed to be 140 potency.
Maybe.... dummy has some ice resist? Do we know if their def and mdef is the same?
As far as we know, mobs don't have any sort of defense or resists. That's why ladybugs and Savage mobs take the same damage from the same attacks, and why BLM isn't useless against Ifrit or Shiva. But, this situation gets more and more fun!
Katon: 782-865
Aeolian: 784-867 (uncombo'd, rear attack)
Both 180 potency.
Doton: 135-150
Mutilate: 135-150
Both 30 potency.
Fuma: 1046-1157
Aeolian: 1046-1157 (combo'd, flank attack)
Both 240 potency.
So Fuma is accurately 240 potency. Doton is probably accurately 30 potency (or the error is too small to observe). Hyoton and Katon are demonstrably not their listed potencies, and Raiton is probably not though has no matching-potency WS or ability to test against. Most interestingly, Doton is unaffected by Foe Requiem, and I didn't see any effect from any of the resistance-down debuffs.
I'd guess Doton is just treated the same as Flaming Arrow.
Seems to be the case. What about Suiton vs Katon vs Aeolian? So far it's still just been elemental skills that are out of line, but that could just be coincidental, and we'd have to do cross-job comparisons to test outside of Ninja, which is... shitty.
