When/Why were you vote kicked?

... Sunken Temple of qarn, I'm trynig to level up my warrior (almost at 36) and I greet the others with a "First time tanking here, if you have any suggestion, please keep in mind is always welcome". Silence. Bard rushes forward without protect, me, whm and mch follow him in a rush, I manage to grab aggro back and we clear the first pull of trash mobs. Before I can recover TP the bard is already rushing away, I follow, we painfully and slowly clear the second trash (bless provoke and flash)move on the next one and it's a big run in general with me running after bard. Before the first boss bard decides to run off before we complete clearing the current pull and he dies.

Screen goes black and I'm back in the Goblet. Wonderful.:o

I've only been kicked twice first time was in WOD when it was still new and I was WHM other healer SCH and our tank was MT on the first boss. The amazing SCH didn't heal at all or DPS and got himself killed by doom, I instantly SC raised on him and he denied it wasting all the mp it took for it. So I'm solo healing as half my team doesn't know the fight and are building the same color stacks and taking tons of dmg and the tank is getting beat up as well since only one OT grabbed the add so our tank pulled the 2nd one off my face. It's basically become zero down time healing and I was almost out of mp when the SCH starts talking in alliance chat shouting that we are solo healing and starts to imply that he's the one doing it -_- so we kill it and after everyone passes on the first drop I get kicked. Literally killed my day and I just logged off and said fuck it.

I have only been kicked before due to D/Cs, I once joined WoD as a conj way back when I was bored, but they just said I was "classy" and didn't mind it because I was still healing well :I

Ouch... i feel your pain there. Know that feeling all to well when something like that happens(Even if it happens so rarely) It just drains all your reason to play

I sorta self-kicked a few days ago.

Lvl roulette as DRK. 2x brd and whm in Aurum Vale, a dungeon I enjoy. Long story short, the whm healed nearly the entire instance in CS despite me mentioning (politley) that healing in CS is a bad thing. After a near wipe and getting through the second boss purely on CS heals, as well as one of the brds making a number of asinine comments, I take Grit off before the final pull and engage. Predictably, we wiped.

The brd provided yet more commentary and I said something to the effect of "you said you had tanked that near wipe pull better than I had, so...tank!" And then proceeded to tell them that if they won't do their jobs, I won't do mine, because this is a team effort, and while a good whm knows when to dps, and will use CS to do it, a bad whm heals full time in CS, even when politely told that this gimp heals.

So I left the instance, took the 30 minute penalty, then went and got ice cream with my nephew.

Got vote kicked from the Wholeeater (extreme) because i was having an argument with MT who said i was tunnel vision as a dragoon for not attacking Wavetooth sahagin and blame all dps about it..

What happened was OT (paladin) failed to stunlock it before the dreamstorm initiated and left the aoe beneath the sahagin, thus leaving me a melee dragoon not being able to attack the sahagin.. I even used spineshatter dive into the dreadstorm to save the party from stunning dreadwash, and this MT kept claiming i wasn't even attacking at all..

I was leveling up Bard right after 3.0 launch. I was in a mix of greens and HQ whites. So were 99% of people in the game at that point.
The Vault, 2nd boss, zero heals. I'm using pots and second wind, but I die. No rez. Boss dies. Release and run back.
We clear the trash all the way up to the last boss.
Tank: You don't have enough DPS to get us through the orb phase.
Healer: Bard dps is sh*t, I'm not healing you.
Me: Well, I do zero damage when I'm dead, so maybe try doing your job.
Screen goes black.
"You have been dismissed from the party."

I was leveling my Bard in the Aery and i was looking for some new stuff because mine was a bit outdated.
We were far before the 1st boss.
I took advantage of my range and DoTs in order to open the chests without losing too much dps since the healer didn't want to open them even if i asked him to since he was doing nothing except using cure every 15s (i mean, you can put regen + asylum and you can derp around).The tank started to be really impolite because apparently i was losing their time by opening them and it was a HUGE loss of dps (the healer wasn't dpsing but hey, I was the one making them lose dps). I just had the time to see that the tank and the healer were a couple that my screen went black. "You have been dismissed from the party".

I am not saying it is reasonable to expect people to inspect someone before rolling, that would just be annoying and delay the dungeon anyways. If you absolutely want something then speak up, otherwise don't expect someone to pass on it just because. But it kind of sucks to snag gear for your retainer when it will actually help others. Honestly, I think most people saying otherwise are just trying to validate their excuses for being selfish.

Personally, I need for upgrades, I greed otherwise. You end up running these places a million times, plenty of opportunity for glamour/seals, whereas the person trying to get an actual upgrade while leveling/gearing through the dungeon will legitimately benefit from the gear.

I've been kicked a bunch of times but then I'm a healer main. First time was Sastasha HM, I struggled so bad on first boss i was embarrassed and asked them to kick me till i figured it out. The last time i got kicked I was tanking The Aery and the 2 dps kicked my Fiance who was healing (57 and still learning) and couldn't keep them alive when they got trapped in a prison and couldn't dps it down my fiance was trying to catch up on healing because they couldn't move out of aoe's so struggled to dps. So they kicked her and i lost my rag. Half-way through a mad, spittle enducing rant about their parentage they kicked me (Can't understand why?) Now my fiance refuses to heal anything outside of an FC party.

Got kicked as Machinist because I was the 2nd Machinist in the group.

Got kicked right before the last because. The whole group left this dungeon after my kick, for no reason. I m still wondering, what that was... .

That was the only 2 times during the last 3 years of playtime.

This will sound very silly, but bear with me.

A year ago, I joined Pharos Sirus as a Monk (I am Lalafell) after the second boss, the tank kept looking at my avatar and I think that is when he noticed that I am a Lalafell. He started sitting down and told the group that he refuses to tank for a Lalafell. At first I thought he was trolling, so I laughed toghter with the group. Then we noticed that he was not joking around. He basicly told us that they should kick me out or find a new tank. 4 minutes later, I was back in Limsa Lominsa.

As a Lalafell I am used to being called some vegetable , made fun off or being called all kind of names. But I would never have thought my ingame race could disgust someone so much that they would force the group to kick me or him out. I get why the other dps and healer kicked me out, they did not want to wait for a new tank, but I was soo disappointed that instead of standing up for me, they decided to kick me out instead. I have reported them all, but I never knew what happend with them.

So have any of you ever been kicked for playing a certain race?:confused:


PS: Before someone thinks I did bad dps or had bad gear, I was in full Ilvl120 gear and I was second on the enmity bar.

If I ever get kicked it's usually someone talking shit and just overall rude players. Then I dish it right back. In dungeons if you pull before me( I do decent large pulls depending on what DPS I get obviously more if MNK BLM SMN..etc), heal bomb me at 90% hp( fractal Minotaur boss where I really don't need healers babysitting my hp, you can DPS), and most importantly people who refuse to take advice on how to play thier job, and got the nerve to back talk you. Like bro you got that sprout on and you telling me using blizzard is the only skill you can use at 50? Foh, it's go time.
Thing is I've never been spoken to or banned by a GM about behavior so I guess
I'm not a total d bag. I'm polite with people though and I certainly don't talk about things idk myself. I might not have the DPS rotation to make it to the high percentiles,but I have basic knowledge of all my 60'd jobs and the Do's and Don't so I know what I'm talking about.

Only once: For doing the comets in Sohm Al correctly.

WHM and BLM wanted to place them on random sides of the room--literally sides, in the BLM's case. I tried to place them correctly as close to each other as possible at the entrance. Idiots running away from me. Wipe. Two minutes later: dismissed.

I'm sure they had fun doing things their way, though. :)

I've never heard anything like this on my world or data center. I can't believe people would have this mindset.

I have never even thought for a second to look differently at a player simply because of the race / job combination or just their race in general.
People should be judged based on how they are playing and if they are actually paying attention in a dungeon. And if they have manners or not.

That being said, I have initiated vote kicks on people the instant they badmouth or look down on another player in the party without a valid reason. I won't put up with people without manners and common decency. And definitely won't tolerate people constantly going afk or slowing up the party because they are chatting with their FC instead of focusing on a dungeon. Pulling mobs slowly is fine, but if people are standing around chatting every fight and not devoting their time to the dungeon they chose to join, then it's time to leave. They can come back when they are ready to play. I vote kick them in a heartbeat for being afk. (And only once has my vote not passed.)
Shape up or ship out.

EDIT for clarity: I have very very rarely vote-kicked anyone for playing "badly", unless they refuse to respond to constructive criticism. If I say to the tank "You might want to use Flash more." and they continue to not use flash, or if I say to a WHM "You might not want to use Regen until the tank has hate", and they respond by spamming Medica II and regen on every player, then I will vote kick for playing badly. I think most of the vote kicks I've initiated are for people going afk in PvP and dungeons and for badmouthing others.

But the greatest joy is about discussing lore! D: Admittedly it feels rude to kick someone for chit chatting and being social but I guess.

At the end of RR, I wanted to watch every cutscene, so rest of the group kicked me for this.

But in reality you cannot do anything if any1 remembers, cutscene follows cutscene there basically you cannot do anything

Usually its when I get into roulettes with FC groups who want to mess around more than run the dungeon. Or in places like AV or DD when the tank insists on a full clear no matter what the others want.

Ninja pulled, caused nearly a wipe and blamed me (Tank) not doing my job. I tried to argue, but it was a premade group, thats why they kicked me.

No, you can leave tho which is a quite better option than some of the pts you can encounter. Especially preforms when you're the odd man out, those are usually not to fun

Got kicked from random group for using LB to finish final boss. Why kick when dungeon is done? Laughed my butt off about it.

Another time, was first time in dungeon (think it was toto-rak), needed it for MSQ....got kicked right before final boss, so I had to run again to finish quest. Never understood why was kicked. /shrug lol

They probably didn't speak English.

I was running Sohr Kai this morning and was kicked after we wiped for the first time on the 2nd boss. I was tanking and the 2 dps didn't use the LB on what little health the Pegasus boss had and we wiped. when I asked why the LB wasn't used the monk DPS said I use it only for mobs. which to me makes no sense given the fact that the boss could have been beaten and I was kicked after an argument over my agro pulls. I have done this dungeon a dozen times and theres always that one time where maintaining aggro becomes a tug of war game between me and a dps. Has anyone else had issues with that if so what can I do to avoid getting into it again cause theres only so many times I can provoke and flash.

I have but I am a casual player. My PLD is only i221 and I routinely get put with groups where the DPS i230+. My i210 weapon has a hard time keeping up. I still find time to switch to SwO on boss fights regularly. It is just about getting up that aggro lead. FF > SL > CoS > FB > SB > RoH > FB > RB > SwO > GB > FB > SB > RoH / RA (depending on aggro).
I can usually maintain aggro lead against an over geared, relative to me, DPS for 75%+ of the boss fight after that aggro opener.

- (my favourite kick) I have been kicked for being an AST in nocturnal, they didnt like me heaing in Noct, didnt even reach the first pack of adds they basically kicked me at the very start.
- I have been kicked for calling out people when using abusive language and I mean really abusive (xenophobic, deamning and the like comments),
- I have been kicked for using LB3 healer when 3/4 of the party were dead Under the pretense that the LB3 could be carried over to the next round.
- I have been kicked for asking why I should use a LB2 Mage on a single trash mob ?
- I Have been kicked for refusing to bow my head to dumbness, for using my Eos on tank on head rather then on tail atLevi Ex, when the tank on head was taking so many damages that one healer wasnt enough to keep him up, we were wiping and so I suggested to try something else out, I requeued and same tank this time though my co-healer played along and guess what ? we passed. The next runs doing this way when necessary I never was kicked ever again.
- I have been kicked for needing on a piece to upgrade my gears in VA, note the upgrade.
- I have been kicked for using Selene when my co healer SCH was using Eos.
- I have been kicked in Odin's trial for using Selene when I should know better then use Selene on a heavy fight like that one..go and figure.
- I have been kicked for asking a question in A1
- I have been kicked for wanting to try something different. Fractal, I have been kicked for daring to press on the adds in the tube at the second boss, you know they are not for that, they are only for the boss when the Platform turns purple even if opening for adds was saving us from taking stupid damage and giving us more time to hit the boss.
- I have been kicked for getting a gear on greed for one of my other classes in CT.
- I have been kicked for suggesting to stand in the mid platorm rather then sides one in CT so that is easier for healers to heal and by that move the boss far away from center.
- I have been kicked for pressing on the towers in Behemot (when nobody was even bothering doing it that should have done it ) and I was a healer of course.

and I have never kicked other then 1x any people other then if they were AFK or asked for it or left, even dumb people I dont kick them, for me they stay sitted in a corner and Watch the show, I am fine with that.

How do you know *why* you were vote kicked? It's not like they give an explanation before vote kicking you?

One can easily surmise a reasonably accurate root reason based on the events and circumstances leading up to the kick.
Just like Sophia, I have been kicked many, many times for a litany of reasons. Most involving RL AFKing or inexperience at the time or where attitudes just did not agree.

easy...because each time there had been an exchange of views about it or it happened right after the event happened. For example, refusing to obey someone that doesnt like you in Noct....and then you are right after kicked....yep...you know why LOL

I have been kicked from exactly one party. Titan HM trying to get my relic during 2.0. I got into a group from an FC that were trying to get a few people their clears and we couldn't meet the DPS check of the heart phase because one of their members was constantly getting killed by his jump (they literally ran through the middle to get to the rest of the group everytime, without fail). But since I was the outsider, everyone dropped, said I didn't have high enough DPS and gave me the boot. That's actually why I went pro-parser because I wanted to know what my DPS was playing on PS3 (PS4 now).

Fortunately, I immediately joined another group that one shotted it and when I did a search for one of the loudest of that group about 3 hours later, they were still in the Navel so I guess I ultimately won that one.

I've only been vote-kicked once and that was when I was doing World of Darkness as a BRD when it first came out, right before the last boss... ;w;
My friend, who was also in the party as a tank , said five of the other partymembers had a BRD friend insta-que in. ;w;

I've been kicked once in Odin in 2.5 because i had real bad lags.

I only votekick People who are trolling, racists or insulting in other ways and People who don't come back after a "DC".

I logged off in the middle of a vault run to eat breakfast and take a nap. I would have finished it, but the healer was a jerk. He actually had the balls to whine about me getting a debuff from the second boss, after he wiped the party earlier with crappy healing (which I let slide and didn't complain about) because he wanted to stay in cleric stance and let Eos do all the work. Didn't help his case at all that he was one of those nerds that likes typing like they're an 90's era inner-city B-boy.

Well... somewhat unsurprisingly perhaps, it depends. From what I've seen, most parties will be upfront enough to provide a short explanation or a recap of what supposedly went wrong with your performance; a fairly large amount instead will be less detailed for a variety of reasons - they're on the clock or just that concise - but still give you a concrete reason behind their choice.

A few will stay silent no matter what. In my experience it tends to happen when the causes for the vote are perceived as obvious - bad behavior, refusal to cooperate or stick to agreed-upon tactics, rudeness, lazy play and in general whatever can be construed as "sorry, but you brought this upon yourself".

And finally, a small (very small, fortunately) minority will attempt to kick or dismiss you because reasons: maybe they had a very, very bad day and you just ended in their crosshairs, maybe they want to avoid being kicked themselves... no matter their motivation, you're stuck as a scapegoat.

Edit: also, I just came back from my very first dismissal, during a Sephi EX run... no problems with it, I believe it was reasonable (a key derp on phase 3 after being revived) though I'm sorry it ended up involving a friend who had joined the race with me (apologies, Ru!...).

I got kicked today for the fact that i did not listen to the scholar. I have played snowcloak sense it release. Really squareenix you need to stop with this kick crap just because someone else don't like the way u play. I believe we should have a right to fight the kick at least in our defense. Even the new members come to me in the fc i am in and ask y they got kicked. i have no idea what to tell them. Well on that note i will be complaining everytime it happens unlawfully. We all put our time and money into this game and we should be able to play without someone else deciding if they want u to our not

I've never been kicked from a dungeon but reading the OPs story reminded me of how things were back in FFXI, especially when the game first came out in North America. Japanese players were extremely racist towards NA players. There were a bunch of JP worshippers who would make excuses saying things like "they just don't want to play with us because we suck!" which was a total lie. They were only a little better for a short while until NA players caught up. Then, they were no better than we were.

Does anyone else remember that? "JP ONLY!" Some people claim it was meant that they only speak Japanese. Those comments were destroyed by the fact that a translator existed. For anything basic, the translator was more than adequate.

One thing I will admit to doing is when I leveled up my Bard (I was early 70s at this time) and those who played Bard in FFXI know... you had no problem finding groups. I put "EN PT ONLY" in my search comment and was called a racist by 3 different people lol
