It seem to be Dated Cotton Tabard (Red) or Dated Canvas Tabard (Auburn). Not obtainable anymore.
Every not dated Tabards have the undersleeves.

Still in work in progress but planning to replace the chest armor with the Warwolf Cuirass and dye the chest and skirt to match the paladin's shiny silver. ( Anyone know if a dye like that exist )

Well there are the GC set that look exactly like it as well.

Felis is right though - most, if not all, the 'modern' tabard-type armour sets, including those given by GCs, either have a silly looking breastplate over the chest and shoulder pauldrons (as seen in this 1.0 MRD render pic), or are actually a 'chainmail' type armour which uses the same tabard model but has a suit of chain underneath, including long arm sleeves of chainmail.

Sadly the only 'real' tabard gear remaining is dated/weathered tabards from version 1.0 which is no longer attainable. I've kept my old tabards from 1.0 for this reason and I wear them occasionally myself as vanity gear, even though the colouring is bland as anything. :p

What is going on here? I tried glamouring some darklight gauntlets onto some militia plate gauntlets, which I thought it worked since it used up the crystal (that I paid 2k for when I only had 4k on me at the time) but the mitts didn't change to the appearance of the DL gauntlets. When I switch to DRG it works properly, when I switch back to MNK it screws up again!

You must be able to wear the projected item, in this case the Darklight Gauntlets on your current class.

Monk can't wear Dragoon/Lancer specific gear.

Which has pissed me off enough to desub my account, why bother releasing a system like this if it's going to be so restrictive? Now i'd rather have no vanity system at all instead of one that is full of arbitrary restrictions.

I understand your frustration but if that is all it takes for you to desub, then this prob is not the game for you. Why not look at the other side and be thankful that they implemented it at all.

I don't mind it and I figured this was how it was going to end up. Some of the outfits in the lower dungeon were set up as "Disciple of War" and "Disciple of Magic" instead of the specific class. I missed wearing the foestriker set and the battlemage. And bathing suits and such. There are still lots of options. Just gotta change your game plan a little.

They should have made it where you can wear whatever you want as long as you're not glamouring a DoM item on a DoW item or vice versa, for example. That is something I can live with, not this.

Wait, I'm confused, are you saying Disciple of War/Magic outfits can't be used as glamour for class-specific gear? For example, can I apply acolyte gear to a specific class like whm or sch? Or is it only whm to whm gear?

You can only glamour gear that your current class/job can wear.

You are on your Dragoon.

Disciple of War outfit -> glamour on -> Dragoon-specific outfit

Dragoon-specific outfit -> CANNOT glamour on -> Any gear, unless you are a Dragoon at that time.

This makes it so, summoners, black mages and white mages can wear "Disciple of Magic" gear like the Battlemage set, but prevents a summoner for example looking like a white mage.

Hi guys, I have a request for you all!

A friend and I have started an FFXIV vanity gear blog where we're trying to amass an archive of as many outfits as we can, and categorize them in a way that people can easily search outfits they can use. Our blog is barely a day old, so right now it'll be of no use to any of you. BUT! I was wondering if any of you would be willing to have your vanity gear posted? We'd be super grateful!

If anyone is interested, here's what I'll need:
1) a good, clear screenshot of your outfit. (UI turned off)
2) a list of all gear and dyes used
3) any additional things you want me to say about your outfit. Also, whether or not I can credit you for the outfit!
